Upon bid invitations to a number of prominent public-works projects, Ametis has successfully completed work that has taken our renowned quality, safety and technical savvy outdoors. �e result of hard work and diligence, Ametis Industries has become highly pro�cient in the contracting areas of demolition, excavation,

concrete and paving. Ametis is the brainchild of Ruth Harvey, our President and CEO. She founded the �rm a�er many years of training and working for one of the industry’s premeir, largest and most well-respected

Construction Management and General Contracting �rms in the world; the former Morse Diesel International (now known as MDI/AMEC). During her sixteen year tenure with this global giant, Ruth made history by breaking proverbial “glass ceilings” in two industry categories. Ruth Harvey was the very �rst female, and person of African-American descent to become a Project Supervisor. She was also the �rst ever to earn certi�cation in, and work in the industry as a Site Safety Manager. Under her careful and professional supervision, dozens of prominent, multi-million dollar buildings in NYC were successfully constructed. �ey are, to name a few; the Marrio� Marquis Hotel, Bern Dibner Library at Polytechnic University, Queens College, Wyko� Hospital and the North and South Dormitory Towers at New York University.

Originally founded in 1993 as a precision drywall, taping, interior painting, rough and master carpentry, ceilings and finishing firm, Ametis has expanded our base to include exterior sites as well.
