Amiel Tours chose to celebrate its 40th anniversary in the Negev Desert, where we spent two amazing days exploring “the friendly desert”, so called by the experts.

We visited the Salad Trail and learnt about the remarkable Israeli innovative spirit making the desert bloom. We stopped at the Ramat Negev Research and Development center to discover the secrets of desert agriculture in Israel. At Mt. Avnon we enjoyed a breathtaking view of the Big Crater, the 2nd largest crater in Israel (after the Ramon Crater).

We took a thrilling jeep ride in the desert, some of us participated in an invigorating one hour bicycle tour, as we discovered splendid views and enjoyed the clear air and vast space of the desert. We finished the tour with an emotional visit to the Shanti House in the desert, a home for youth at risk, where they are transformed from the deserted to the accepted, from being lost to being found, from individuals to being part of a family.

Israel’s 70th Birthday

Jerusalem’s 50th Anniversary of Reunification is close at hand. We arranged a very special seminar for our tour guides who enjoyed educational tours guided by IDF

veterans who took part in the 1967 battles in and around Jerusalem. It was a first hand and exciting experience for the guides, full of historical gems that cannot be found in history books.

As we celebrate Jerusalem’s Reunification we are looking ahead to Israel’s 70th Birthday.We invite you to “save the date” April 19th 2018! Come and sing and dance with us at the biggest party of the year!

Israel – Closer than EVER….. Flights update

Far East Hong Kong airline, Cathay Pacific, started with flights from Hong Kong to Tel Aviv in March 2017, a move which will greatly strengthen connections between the Far East, Australia, and New Zealand, and IsraelChina Southern Airlines, China’s largest airline, is expected to launch flights from China’s third largest city, Guangzhou to Tel Aviv.Hainan Airlines are expected to launch direct flights from Shanghai to Tel Aviv in late 2017.

Europe Ryanair, the European low-cost airline will launch 15 new routes to Israel in the winter of 2017. Flights will begin at the end of October from Germany, Poland, Italy, and Cyprus to Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport and Eilat’s Ovda Airport, which will soon be replaced by the new Ramon Airport.WizzAir are set to launch flights from London Luton to Tel Aviv with four flights a week beginning in June 2017.German low-cost airline, Germania will launch direct flights from Nuremberg to Tel Aviv starting November 2017. One of Europe’s fastest growing low-cost airlines, Norwegian, has added flights from Barcelona to Tel Aviv to its current routes of Copenhagen and Stockholm. LOT Polish Airlines decided to add four additional cities in in Poland from where flights will depart to to Israel. Another daily flight tothe Warsaw – Tel Aviv route (twice a day instead of once) is planned to be added as well.

North America Air Canada, the largest airline in Canada, will add a new seasonal flight route from Montreal to Tel Aviv during the summer months, beginning in June 2017, and continuing until October 2017. Air Transat adds Tel Aviv to its summer program. This non-stop flight between the Montréal–Trudeau airport and the Ben- Gurion airport of Tel Aviv will operate twice weekly, on Wednesdays and Sundays, from June 18 until late October.
