Amity University

Amity University was formed by Ashok Chauhan, the founder of the Ritnand Balved Education Foundation in 2003. Amity was India's first private university slated to implement reservations based on caste etc. for both faculty as well as students. The school started with an enrollment of 120 students. In 2007 The Delhi high court has directed the University Grants Commission (UGC) to add Amity University to its website and has asked the commission to inspect the private college and point out any problems in its programs. Observers say the decision could lend more credibility to Amity, which boasts degrees in subjects from management to fashion to nanotechnology. The university has repeatedly requested the listing and then filed a petition in the court. In 2008 Amity Group had 50,000 students enrolled at its various campuses across the country, paying tuition fees from Rs. 28,000 per annum for Amity International School to Rs5 lakh for a two-year post graduation course in business administration at Amity University. In 2008, on an average day, this three-year-old university in the suburb of New Delhi sees 200 students lining up for admission to classrooms filled with aspiration, fuelling the education boom. In 2011 Amity had 80,000 students in 240 programs In 2013 The university received several rankings in the 2013 India Today college rankings. It was ranked India's #1 non-profit private university. Its engineering school was ranked first amongst India's emerging colleges. It's BBA program was ranked #2 in India. The School of Communication was ranked #5 amongst Mass Communication programs in India. The Fashion Design program was ranked #7 in India. New Delhi: To address the shortage of skilled manpower in real estate, more than 200 Indian property developers have associated with Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), which has tied-up with Amity University to open Indias first institute that will provide education in real estate, construction and infrastructure related disciplines. Real estate industry needs around 5 million professionals, including architects, civil engineers, planners and facility managers, every year, but only one million such professionals pass out from Indian institutes annually, according to industry estimates. The institute will start operating from August in Amitys Noida campus and will initially provide three specialized courses. The first batch will have 135 students. The industry body expects this number to reach 700-800 per year in the next few years. RICS may open a second campus in two years in either Mumbai or Bangalore.

Activities and SponsorshipsAmity tied up with Red Bull Racing and Amity's F1 Racing Club has organized many events like bringing Red Bull Drivers to campus as well as displaying on campus the Red Bull Racing Car.

Amity has tied up with Manchester United Football club to organize soccer school programs for students. The first one was held in April 2013 Amity also presented the online broadcasting of the 2014 FIFA World Cup on livsports.in for Indian viewers.

Amity has been partnering IPL since many years and has been the action replay partner on the broadcaster Sony as well as sponsor of teams like Delhi Daredevils and Rajasthan Royals. The famous Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the brand ambassador for Amity University.
