RATING IS 68.1 SLOPE 122
TOTAL YARDAGE FROM WHITE TEES IS 5861.
HOLE 1 “POSTAGE STAMP” HDCP 12
The opening hole is a short Par 5. The fairway tilts to the right & a drive in the right rough can put you in the trees. Beware that this small shelf green slopes severely from back to front making a deft touch with the putter all important.
HOLE 2 “THE OLD HICKORY” HDCP 14
A short downhill Par 3 with a small pond front left & bunker on the right. The green slopes from back to front. A good birdie opportunity if you keep your tee shot below the hole.
HOLE 3 “FRONT 9 POND” HDCP 6
The ultimate risk/ reward hole. A conservative play left of the pond can leave a 120—150 yard uphill ap-proach. Big hitters can try to drive the green by carry-ing the pond, trees & bunker right front of the green. Beware of OB beyond the green left.
HOLE 4 “INTERSTATE 88” HDCP 16
A straight Par 4. A portion of the Fish Pond lurks to the right front of this green. The green will hold a well struck shot but the apron in front can be firm resulting in approach shots bouncing & rolling through the green.
HOLE 5 “THE FUNNEL” HDCP 8
A driver can be too much club off the tee. A well placed tee shot in the right center of the fairway will give the best opportunity to negotiate the narrow ap-proach to this uphill green. No bunkers protect this green allowing players to hit approach shots in the air or use the bump & run.
HOLE 6 “TOP OF THE WORLD” HDCP 2
The tee box on this Par 5 provides a panoramic view of the scenic Village of Cobleskill below. Control your ball in the prevailing cross winds & be rewarded with a birdie chance.
HOLE 14 “TURTLE BACK” HDCP 13
This 170+ yard Par 3 plays uphill all the way. Those who hit this green & walk away with a par are ahead of the game.
HOLE 15 “TURN FOR HOME” HDCP 11
A short dogleg Par 4 that has plenty of trouble. A pond, evergreen trees & a bunker guard the right, but a tee shot pulled left can go through the fairway into trees.
HOLE 16 “BACK NINE POND” HDCP 5
The Par 4 demands both distance & accuracy off the tee. Avoid the water right & the Out of Bounds left. The green is slightly elevated & breaks to the right.
HOLE 17 “BORST NOBLE ROAD” HDCP 9
The final Par 3 is all carry to a tricky two tiered green. Don’t push your tee shot to the right or you could bounce into the trees.
HOLE 18 “HOME HOLE” HDCP 15
The final hole is a dogleg right & uphill all the way. This is another green which is sloped severely from back to front. An uphill putt must be struck solidly & those down hillers must be played VERY CAREFULLY.
We hope that this guide helps you better understand how to play our course & enjoy your golfing experience at Cobleskill Golf Club.

HOLE 7 “SENTINEL PINES” HDCP 4
Like Hole 1, this fairway tilts to the right. This green also runs severely from back to front. Down hill & side hill putts can easily run off the front of the green.
HOLE 8 “SHORT & SWEET” HDCP 18
Our shortest Par 3 is just 100 yards long. But, any shot over the green will require a very difficult recovery pitch.
HOLE 9 “CLUBHOUSE” HDCP 10
A straight away Par 5 from an elevated tee. The green is undulating & a bit difficult to read. Our renovated club house sits just to the right of the 9th green.
HOLE 10 “CROSS WINDS” HDCP 17
This long downhill Par 3 can be played successfully in different ways. Either a high tee shot to the green or a lower shot can roll on. But, a ball which rolls through the green leaves a difficult pitch back onto the green. Although this green appears to slope significantly from back to front, it is actually flatter than it appears.
HOLES 11, 12 & 13 ARE COBLESKILL’S “AMEN CORNER”
HOLE 11 “CROSS COUNTRY MARATHON” HDCP 3
A challenging Par 5 requires a solid drive over the hill. Beware of the Out of Bounds left. A good second shot is crucial to set up the approach to a green guarded in the front by a stream.
HOLE 12 “BIG TROUBLE” HDCP 1
A long uphill dogleg Par 4 normally plays into the prevailing west wind. Out of bounds left of the fairway is also very near the green. But approach shots too near the right side of the green will tend to roll off. A Par is a very good score on this hole.
HOLE 13 “ISLAND GREEN” HDCP 7
A solid, well placed tee shot is required to set up a short iron approach to this short Par 4. A well struck iron is required to stick the green which is guarded on all sides by water hazards.
