One day, after lunch, Kanata and his friends go outside to play.
“Let’s play soccer,” says Kanata.
“Good idea,” say his friends, and they play soccer.
“This is fun! . . . What are we going to do next?” asks Kanata.
“How about riding unicycles?” says Yui.
“Sounds good.”

“Look. I can ride a unicycle! Come on, Daniel!”
“Oh, no,” says Daniel. “I can’t ride a unicycle . . . Can you ride a unicycle?”
“Yes, I can,” says Yui.
“No, I can’t,” says Saki sadly.
Daniel and Saki see their friends enjoy riding their unicycles.
“Oh, I wish I could ride a unicycle too!”

The next day, Kanata and Daniel visit Magic Land.
Their fourth task is to win the multicycle race.
“The multicycle race . . .” says Daniel. “What’s that?”
“It’s a relay race,” says the wizard.
“We need a team of three: you two and Mr. Clown. He’s waiting for you at the starting point.”

At the starting point, the boys meet Mr. Clown. He is very tall.
“Who’s going first? And who’s going last?”
“Let’s play rock-paper-scissors,” says Daniel.
“Good idea,” says Mr. Clown. “The winner goes last. Okay?”
“Rock, paper, scissors, go!”
Kanata and Mr. Clown throw scissors. Daniel throws rock.
“You win. So, you’re going to be last, Daniel.”
“Okay.”

The first rider is Mr. Clown. And the first group of racers will ride tricycles.
“Oh, no,” says Mr. Clown. “It’s too small for me.”
“On your mark! Get set! Go!”
The race begins.
And all the first riders start off.
“Go, Mr. Clown! Go!” cry Kanata and Daniel.
Mr. Clown finishes fourth.

The next rider is Kanata. And the second group of racers will ride bicycles.
“Can you ride a bike?” asks Mr. Clown.
“Yes, I can. It’s a piece of cake. Wow, this one is big!”
“Can you climb up onto the bike?”
“Yes, I can.”
Kanata starts off. He is very fast.
“Go, Kanata! Go!” cry Daniel and Mr. Clown.
Kanata is ahead of everyone else. He is in the lead.

The last rider is Daniel. And the last group of racers will ride unicycles!
“Oh, no!”
“Can you ride a unicycle?” asks Mr. Clown.
“No, I can’t,” says Daniel sadly. “I can’t ride a unicycle. We can’t win.”
“Don’t give up, Daniel,” says Mr. Clown. “You can do it!”
“Yes, you can do it!” says Kanata.
“All right. I’ll try!”

Daniel tries. He falls down several times, but he does not give up.
“Go for it, Daniel!” cries Kanata. “Push those pedals! Right, left, right, left!”
“Right, left, right, left!” cry Mr. Clown and the crowd.
Daniel pushes the pedals, right, left, right, left.

There he goes! He is riding a unicycle!
“Hey, I can ride a unicycle now!” shouts Daniel happily.
Daniel stays ahead of the others and finally finishes.
Mr. Clown, Kanata, and Daniel win!
“Yay! You did it, Daniel!”
“Yay! Thank you, everyone!”
“We did it! Thank you, boys!”
Another star appears on the book. Now they have four!
