The story of the fence starts near the yard of Otto Venus the carpenter of Sarona. Initially the yard was vegetable garden. In ~1925 when tennis became popular, the Templers built on the yard tennis court and small club house in the corner. When Otto Venues built new modern house in 1929 over his workshop, the surface of the tennis court was concreted by Josef & Hugo Wennagel. Between the Tennis court and the yard a special decorative fence was built It was made of Wieland Cement bricks, metal poles, grid & decorative steel edges.

The Shack (Baracke) in the yard of Baldenhofeer Carl house, was Israeli army office until 2006

The grass surface was previously Sarona Tennis Court.

Close to the Shack west wall we found 5 poles of an old fence with 3

decorative edges left .

the old cypress trees and the bush guarded the fence for many years. We took out the fence poles before

the Shack was destroyed .

The Tennis court was located behind Baldenhofer's house, A narrow path led along the side of the house which provided access to the Tennis court.

Carl Baldenhofer was employed as a patternmaker at Wagner's Foundry and did engineering works, the fence with metal decorative edges was

probably his idea .
