William the Conqueror’s story is important because he reshaped the feudal hierarchy. He made the monarchy more powerful and the nobles weaker by taking power from them when he took over England. He also built many castles as a display of his power.

(8pts) The Medici family ruled Florence as

despots, or absolute rulers. Florence is a city-state in Italy. The family became wealthy as bankers and then expanded to other industries. They made an impact during the Renaissance because they were Patrons who gave money to artists to make artwork during the time period. Because they were patrons, they controlled some of the art that was created during the time.
