VALUE OF ADVERSITY

WE INCREASE STRENGTH THROUGH STRUGGLE

Physically Mentally Spiritually

ISRAELITES

Left a generational life of slavery to go worship and follow Jehovah God

At the first conflict – they wanted to go back to slavery (Ex 14:10-12)

HE KNEW THEIR CAPACITY:Exodus 13:17-18 (NIV)

17 When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter. For God said, "If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt." 18 So God led the people around by the desert road toward the Red Sea. The Israelites went up out of Egypt armed for battle.

THEY SPENT TWO YEARS WANDERING AROUND THE DESERT DEVELOPING AND LEARNING:

How to walk with God (worship) How to trust God (provision and

protection) How to honor each other How to fight for and possess their

promise

THEN, THROUGH PRACTICE, I DEVELOP THE K.A.S.H.

Knowledge Attitude Skills Habits

James 1:13 (NIV) 13 When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone;

OUR OWN DESIRES DO THAT:James 1:14-15 (NIV)

14 but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. 15 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

THE HOLY SPIRIT IS THE BEST TEACHER – HE HAS A PLAN FOR US TO “ACE” THE CLASS

1 Corinthians 10:13 (NIV) 13 No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

IF I FALL AND FAIL IN MY SIN, THAT MEANS I STILL NEED SOME GROWTH

Proverbs 24:10 (NKJV) 10 If you faint in the day of adversity, Your strength is small.

Proverbs 24:10 (NLT) 10 If you fail under pressure, your strength is too small.

Matthew 11:28-30 (NIV) 28 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

God has destined us to win! Failure is only an event, it is never an

identity!!! Yes, there are giants. Yes, there is an

enemy. Don’t focus on how big your problem is – focus on how big your God is!

He’s setting us up for the miraculous

Numbers 14:6-9 (NIV) 6 Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had explored the land, tore their clothes 7 and said to the entire Israelite assembly, "The land we passed through and explored is exceedingly good. 8 If the LORD is pleased with us, he will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and will give it to us. 9 Only do not rebel against the LORD. And do not be afraid of the people of the land, because we will swallow them up. Their protection is gone, but the LORD is with us. Do not be afraid of them."

Don’t fear, don’t rebel, stay in faith and take the next class.

Take the next step.
