NEUTRAL FATS
Neutral fats neutralization can be done in continuous or in batch.
BATCH FULL BOILED
This process requires a classic saponi-fication kettle where the soap maker
controls the whole process from raw materials dosing to the final neat soap
specs adjustment.
CONTINUOUS FULL BOILED
Raw materials, neutral fats, soda, salt and water are dosed continuously into
the saponification reactor for a com-plete reaction under high pressure and
temperature. A passage through the cooler brings
the soap and line mixture to a graining
temperature. Soap, subsequently separated in static
separator is countercurrently washed inside washing column. Last traces of
lye are eliminated from the soap inside centrifugal separator. Eventual excess
alkali are neutralized in the neutraliza-tion section.
BATCH HALF BOILED Batch type neutral fats neutralization is
simple and flexible. Raw materials, fatty acids, soda, salt and water are
dosed in the Crutcher and mixed until their complete reaction. Raw materials
can be dosed by means of flowmeters, over-elevated tanks or load cells.
CONTINUOUS HALF BOILED
The advantages of Soaptec continuous neutral fats neutralization are: reduced
volumes, reaction under preassured and possibility of production of con-
centrated soap. All raw materials, neutral fats, soda,
salt and water are dosed continuously
in the Turbo Mixer located before the saponification reactor where the reac-
tion is completed under intense and continuous mixing.
Raw materials can be dosed by mass-flow meters or proportioning pumps.
Saponification process consist in dos-
ing pre-treated raw materials in exact ratio for a proper reaction in order to
produce liquid soap. The choice of process is given by the raw materials
available: FATTY ACIDS or NEUTRAL FATS.
FATTY ACID
The soap produced for fatty acids is
pure as it normally doesn’t contain any glycerine or impurities. This process is
also called neutralization.
NEUTRAL FATS
The soap produced for neutral fats contains glycerin, in traces or in quan-
tity. Glycerin is an integral component
of neutral fats. FULL BOILED process “washes” the soap in order to extract
glycerin. HALF BOILED process leaves the glycerin inside the soap.
FATTY ACIDS
Fatty acids saponification can be done continuous or batch.
BATCH
Batch type fatty acids neutralization is simple and flexible. Raw materials,
fatty acids, soda, salt and water are dosed in the Crutcher and mixed until
their complete reaction. Raw materials can be dosed by means of flowmeters,
coverelevated tanks or load cells.
CONTINUOUS The advantages of Soaptec continuous
fatty acids neutralization are: reduced volumes, reaction under preassured
and possibility of production of con-centrated soap.
All raw materials, fatty acids, soda,
salt and water are dosed continuously in the Turbo Mixer located before the
saponification reactor where the reac-tion is completed under intense and
continuous mixing. Raw materials can be dosed by mass-
flow meters or proportioning pumps.
