Organizational change does not occur spontaneously.

The forces for change can be classified as external and internal pressures.

These are discussed below,

computer technology and automation have extremely affected all aspect of industrial activities.

New machine and new technology processes have developed and not only production techniques, but also the social conditions of work are changed.

The explosion of knowledge is on an accelerated path. It has influenced the working styles, values and thinking in modern organization.

Knowledge based society is emerging very fast. Thus, new occupations have been created.

Obsolescence of producers and programmers is also happening due to the change in technology and knowledge.

The changing nature of market condition such as demand of customers, taste and preference of customers, design and product of customers etc…

The socio-culture climate of society also changing. People now have a different set of values from that of people in their old decade.

Several factors within an organization can be important forces for organization change. These include;
