WHAT IS A SMALL GROUP SPEECH?

• Group Speech: (200 points) – 4-6 minutes per person: A small group of speakers will individually present a symposium on different facets of a topic significant to the audience. The goal will be to give the audience a richer understanding of a specific topic about which there is misunderstanding or lack of understanding.

SYMPOSIUM & INFORMATION

• Symposium: Group conversation with each speaker presenting an individual point

• Single, unified topic with different points

• Purpose is to inform• Implicitly, to convince audience to receive, process, and

accept your information

GOALS

• Be appreciative• Be positive• Do your part to improve the mood of the group• Trust others
