1. Find the length of a side of a right triangle.

• Hypotenuse (pg.546): in a right triangle, the side opposite the right angle (the longest side) is the hypotenuse.

• Leg (pg.546): the two sides in a right triangle that form the right angle.

• Pythagorean theorem (pg.546): for any right triangle, the sum of the squares of the lengths of the legs equals the square of the length of the hypotenuse [ ].2 2 2a b c
