Four Treasures of the StudyFour Treasures of the Study is an expression used to denote the brush, ink, paper and ink -stone used in Chinese and other East Asian calligraphic traditions.

Chinese brush A traditional brush pen is not only an essential study tool, but also has special charm in the expression of Chinese calligraphy and painting.

Ink

Although ink gives an impression of very few varieties, it is a very vital tool for ancient calligraphy.

Paper

Paper is one of the four great inventions of ancient China. It has spread all around the world.

Inkstone

In a way, the inkstone is the most important one for its solid texture which can last for hundreds of years.

Chinese Calligraphy is a form of calligraphy widely practised in China and revered in the Chinese cultural sphere, which often includes Japan, Taiwan, Korea and Vietnam.

techniques as Chinese calligraphy and is done with a brush

dipped in black or colored ink; oils are not used.
