The Short Theory
:hy do we do5 what we do.@
$raining or Biological.@
$here are things you have learned and there are things that are #iological.$hings like $hat you have to pee and that you are hungry are #iological and therefore
you do it5 when your #ody tells you.
But if you wash your hands after you have peeped5 $hat is something 6ou have
learned. And that is what you can change.
And that is what this #ook is a#out.
How did you learn these things5 and how can you change them.@
Almost everything you do5 you are doing #ecause you have learned it.But you can add information5 to give you a new opportunity.
$his is what the advertisements is trying to do.
$hey want to convince you5 that their product is #etter than others.
$hey do this #y trying to convince you with =ata.
D$his product has 2( more power than others5 in the same price range.D
4r with emotions.
D, choose product A5 #ecause it makes me happy.D
:hether it is logical or feelings5 they try to give you new data.
o why does it have a limited impact.@F@
Because you have may#e a ! or may#e thousands pieces of information5 a#out a
product or a way to act.
But there is an easier way to add data.
,t is called the 18e#ruary man and is GinventedG #y Milton Erickson.
How can we add a memory5 so it has a high power.@How do you put this memory in place5 and nail it there with +-inch nails.@
8irst we must start with how to give this memory a high priority.
Either it must #e added #y someone5 who you feel have a high value.
,f you are told #y your parents5 your doctor or priest5 then the memory has a high
value. 4r it can #e added as early as possi#le.
,f you can add a memory #efore every other memory in that area5 that memory has
the highest value.

:hat , have found out is how to go #ack into a persons youth or childhood5 and add a
memory.
o the memory , add is the first or one of the first memories5 that person has on a
su#ect.
,f a person was calm and Clear-headed he would look through his memories5 and thelast couple of e?periences5 and then choose which one is the most appropriate5 for
this situation.
May#e even think what he want out of an action.
But there is rarely time for a person to think all his memories and actions through.
$hat is why , put an anchor ust #efore Dthe actD5 so when he is thinking a#out an
action5 he is reminded Dwhen he was a child and learned to. .. D
:hen we talk a#out choosing candy or vegeta#les5 , put an anchor which is activated
every time5 he walks into a shop.4r to wash hands after toilet visits5 it is when he pulls up his pants.
$hen the person will #e reminded of the e?perience he had5 when he was ! years old
and he re-lives a memory he received at the time.
And it does not matter5 if it is a true or fake memory5 that he acts on.
$his works #ecause 6ou have a mental movie running in 6our head5 all the time.
Every time 6ou want to do something5 6ou first see through a mental movie5 so 6ou
know all the steps in the action.

The Rule in Childhood
Or The Short, Cheap and Effective Way to dd a Fa!e Me"ory#
$he person wants to train more.@
Add a memory of him talking with his family at the dinner ta#le5 and get either themother or father to tell him.
1$he rule is that every day you must train ! hour.

4f course make sure that he has parents and he love them5 and all those other small

the normal life of a kid.
4ne was when he was starting in school5 and the first day he got home from school5
she had #aked #uns. And he sits and eat freshly #aked #uns with #utter and chocolate.
And then he got to tell the aunt all a#out the new school and the other children.
An easier way is to add a memory at a #irthday5 #ecause that is already a special day5
and then it is easy to add a e?tra memory.
$hat was the original way that Milton did it.
$hat way , add the other memories5 so each time he has a #irthday he remem#ers the
aunt5 and each time he smells fresh #reath or #uns5 he remem#ers that day in the
kitchen with his aunt.
,t was two simple memories of getting a special present from her and feeling her
warm em#race.
:hen you #uild a new fake memory for a person5 always make it a 8irst-person
story.
