Pipe settings

Settings for PIPE are defined by administrator, who creates or chooses the ICGD for the project. ICGD defines the content of tables and lists on the sheet. Sheet includes title block, part list, cut list, instructions etc...

Administrator also presets the default annotation settings for the project. Annotation includes dimensions, coordinates and part numbers etc. Default annotation is used as the automatic annotation which means that the drawings are annotated according to these settings. Usually user doesn't have rights to save any changes in default annotation settings.

Click once PI-area and select Object> Pipe Settings:

Note: You have to save changes made in PIPE settings to the project after modification. All changes should be done at the beginning of the project.

Automatic annotation settings / Default Spool and Isometric Sheet

You can select drawing sheet for spool and / or isometric drawings. Drawing sheet defines the physical dimensions and general layout of a drawing. It contains instructions for plotting text boxes, symbols and data tables.

Each text box can be associated with a variable number of data items. When a drawing is generated, these data items are retrieved from the header file of the document and plotted according to the box definition. Symbols from an associated 2D-symbol library can be requested to be plotted with given parameters. The associated symbol library is application specific. A table is a two dimensional arrangement of rows and columns. The data appearing in the rows is retrieved from a data file, which may be generated by an ICGD.

Automatic annotation settings

In the picture, all the possible choices of annotations are shown. The appearance of symbols, dimensions and different kinds of property tags can be modified.

4

Automatic annotation settings / Axes symbol

The location of axes symbol and texts in axes symbol are defined:

5

Automatic annotation settings / Dimensions

Primary supports have to be onto line components and have the tag support id (pis).

6

Automatic annotation settings / Triangles

Slope mark is added automatically for pipes with slope (slope is less than with triangles).

7

Automatic annotation settings / Coordinates

Dimensioning from the nearest line coordinate.

Coordinates according to coordinate label macro (macro selected in Dimensions & Coordinates).

8

Automatic annotation settings

Changes in these settings must be saved to the project.

Definition of what annotations to be automatically generated in isometrics or spools. Outlook is defined in Property Tags.

These need specific scripts (see DefaultAnnotation).

Automatic annotation settings / Preprocess Headers

9

Preprocess Headers activated means filtering of tags NOT to be copied from spool to spool. Modified Administator’s Tools> Modify ‘Pi/Preprocess-Headers-Filter’ object

10

Automatic annotation settings

Part’s detail symbol is specified in catalog part or catalog part size as the attribute ‘Detail symbol in isometric drawing’. The symbol has to be PI-symbol.

Definition of the range how much the automatic annotation can turn the view direction at maximum e.g. in the situation when a valve symbol would be drawn as one line when the fixed isometric view direction is used.

11

Automatic annotation settings / View Direction

Functions defined in DefaultAnnotation.

Elbow Partnumbering Tolerance angle means the maximum angle deviation before using new partnumber (Same Partnumber to Elbows with Different Angle has NOT been activated).

Triangles

Bending angle:

The angle marking can be one of the following:

•Bending Angle

•Supplement of Bending Angle

•Triangle Angle

If "Triangle Angle" is selected then instead of bending angle the triangle entity gets it's own angular dimension and the right angle marking.

Format of angle marks. In this case no decimals and ending with °.

Property tags

Separate Tags (tag1;tag2;...)

If tag is set and two identical parts have this tag, but the values of separate tag differ, then these parts get different part numbers.

Letter Format (A,B,C...)

Instead of conventional part numbers 1, 2, 3...it is possible to use letters A, B, C.... The Range is A-ZZ (1-702).

Symbols

Pipe cut gap value is between 0 and 6.

Isometric drawing symbols are browsed and can be edited.

Material Generation, Bending Info & Other

Possibility to create a link e.g. for bending machine data

Alternate bending info table: Transport from the outer end, Bending radius for each bending, Transport after the last bending.

Extra pipe lengths needed by bending machine are added to material file.

If there are major changes in isometric group in Plant Modeller, checking this option remains the manually done changes in title block

Pipe settings. Colors, pens and layers

Color definition for geometry and drawing objects appropriate for the project.

Select the layer for the entity types using right-click in the layer field. Select layer from the “Isometries” list.

Lineweights for the object groups effects only in screen or plotted drawing not in exported files.

Pipe settings. Fonts

You can select Windows Font for the text objects. Make this selection in the beginning of the project because the change of the font doesn´t update the other objects used with texts (boxes and frames).
