❖ Once in Royal David’s CitySinging strings and brass play in counterpoint inwhat might be an appropriate Prelude for youryuletide service.

❖ Personent HodieOriental bells and drums punctuate this medievalcarol with each verse growing larger and larger asthe organ registration grows, all coming tosudden ending.

❖ I Wonder as I WanderWith the sound of hand-rung church bells callingacross the ridges, this mountain carol has abittersweet flavor, brought out by the tone of theshakuhachi, the shanai and the classical guitar.

❖ Away in the MangerThe glass harmonica, acoustic bass and bells add ahalo of sound around the organ in this simple, buteffective, carol arrangement.

❖ O SanctissimaA new treatment for a carol that adds life andbreadth to the music, excellent for an Invocationor Offertory.

❖ Infant HolyElectric Piano and Harmonica conspire togetherto make this Polish carol appropriate for a time ofreflection on the season.

A Midi Musical ChristmasMusic for Solo Organ with MIDI Orchestra • Includes Music Score and MIDI DISK

❖ Bring a TorchFrench horns, steel drums, percussion andglockenspiel are joined by strings in this verymodern and joyous arrangement by Lauren Gaddwhich really brings out the dance-like characterof this carol

❖ Coventry CarolHarp and shakuhaci flute with cross rhythms addan air of mystery to this English carol.

❖ CrécheA rocking lullaby for organ and strings with atender melody.

❖ Joy to the WorldHarpsichord leads off this classical romp throughthis well-loved carol. As the organ states themelody, it is joined with florid passages from theharpsichord, then the strings, flute and oboe of aclassic-era orchestra, then with a soft measureecho of instruments it all draws to a close.

❖ Lo, How a RoseStrings and the Church Bell introduce this choralwork with English Horn and Flute. MIDI Vocalparts are intertwined with Brass. The MIDI vocalpartts may be omitted and your singers may readthe choral parts that appear at the end of themusic score. You have permission to copy thesepages for your singers.

❖ Fantasy on Adeste FidelesXylophone, Brass and SynthBass combine withthe organ for a joyous trip through keys andrhythms with quotes from Adeste appearing inthis challenging work.

Performing A MIDI Musical Christmas

The MIDI files will play in a MIDI keyboard with a disk drive that plays SMF(Standard MIDI File) Disks; a hardware Sequencer & Voice Module such as the RolandMT Series or the Rodgers PR-300; or in a computer. The best sound will be producedby routing the sound through organ speakers or in the case of a pipe organ, a churchsound system.

The registration numbers in the music refer to suggested pistons from the In-stant Organist, a guide to the organ and its registration. The basic piston settings arelisted at the back of this book. The entire Instant Organist may be downloaded freefrom our website.

A few of the works start with a silent measure. This indicates that you and themidi file will start playing together. Most MIDI devices will flash or otherwise indicatethe tempo of the silent measure to cue you when to begin playing.

If you have questions, please email us at: frogmusic@onemain.com and youwill get a prompt answer.

Please note the sample service outline at the end of the book.

Thank you for purchasing music from Frog Music Press. We welcome your commentsand suggestions.
