DESCRIPTION

A set of instructions for building a simple 2-wheeled robot using the LEGO Mindstorms kit.

TRANSCRIPT

2-Wheeled BotThis is my redesign of a 2-wheeled bot similar to one presented at a 2-day teacher workshop at U PENN SEAS on August 15-16, 2011.

This is how the pieces should line up. One of the connectors will fit into the long slot.

Voilà!

Insert the various connectors as seen here.

Then, lay pieces out like this.

It will simplify the next steps. Go in order.

You can use the photos to see how to line pieces up as you attach them.

10. Attach your motor cables and sensor cables and take her for a test drive. (Hint: Don’t forget. You may need to run your motors in reverse to get her drive “forward”.)

This is not my favorite simple bot, but it has some nice features. I especially like the light sensor mount as it gets the sensor close to the ground. Give it a try and see what you think! This is my first attempt at putting together a set of instructions for a model build. Please feel free to send me some feedback and let me know how they worked for you.
