DIFFICULTIES Creating a local CSADD chapter Getting the word out about CSADD Keeping Sailor’s interested Raising money for events Creating a bank account for funds raised Getting ideas for issues that should be

addressed

Creating Local CSADD Chapter

The best site to get information and guidance from would be the NPC website:http://www.public.navy.mil/BUPERSNPC/SUPPORT/CSADD/Pages/HowToStartACSADDChapter.asx

Getting The Word Out About CSADD

Posters Flyers Word of Mouth Creative Displays

Keeping Your Sailors Interested

Various Events

Raising Money for Events

Fundraisers Breakfast cart Bake sales

Donations Better profit by selling things by donation

instead of a set price

Why CSADD Needs Money The funds raised by CSADD open more

opportunities for events and help lower the cost for the individual sailor

Also funds go toward prizes, parties, activities and other social gatherings

Creating Bank Account

Go to http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fss4.pdf and fill in the SS-4 form (Application for EIN), so that you can set up a bank account through a local bank. You will need to get an Employee Identification Number (EIN) prior to opening your nonprofit organization account. For assistance you can call:

1-800-829-4933.
