COMPETITION2016 DELIVER BEST PRACTICES

Each year, Jabil employees from around the globe travel to St. Petersburg, Fla, to compete in Jabil’s continuous improvement competition: Deliver Best Practices.

This competition is designed to help Jabil uncover and elevate new best practices that can be implemented globally.

It also allows employees to build strong bonds, learn from each other and truly embrace the ideal of continuous improvement.

Best practices submissions can be submitted into one of four categories: Employees, Social & Environmental, Operations, Beyond the Factory.

Since its inception in 2009, the competition has received nearly 6,500 submissions – improving countless processes and programs along the way.

This year, over 1,200 applications were narrowed down to 32 finalists that ultimately competed for first place at Jabil headquarters.

In the days leading up to the competition, finalists participated in a number of activities related to Jabil’s culture such as socializing with colleagues during the Global Culture Melting Pot event…

…preparing for their presentations by working with professional speech coaches…

… and exploring beautiful Ft. De Soto Park in kayaks.

On Thursday, the 32 finalists presented to a preliminary panel of judges from different functional areas throughout the company.

As expected, the presentations drew a large crowd from interested Jabil employees.

With finalists acting as representatives of larger Deliver Best Practices groups, a heavy emphasis was placed on how the teams collaborated to reach their solution.

At the end of the day, judges deliberated and selected three finalists from each of the four categories to move onto the finals.

On Friday, the 12 remaining finalists presented to a new panel of judges including Chief Executive Officer Mark Mondello, Chief Operations Officer Bill Muir and President Bill Peters.

After much deliberation, judges presented finalists with 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards for their respective category.
