Year 9 Thorpe Park Trip:
On June 18th year 9 went to Thorpe park and
it was awesome!!
We had so much fun because we had earned
it. Year 9 won the prize for raising the most
money for the sponsored walk in December
2018, our prize was a trip of our choice, so
after 5 months of procrastinating we finally
chose to go to Thorpe park. We all met at 9
am in Hounslow and took 2 busses to the
park. When we arrived we got our tickets and
the fun began. We had a lot of sweets, slush-
ies, doughnuts and much more. Ust. Sanam
and Ust. Tahira came with us and made the
trip very enjoyable for us. We will never for-
get how much fun that day was.
On the 27th of April 2019 the 7th
annual sisters evening was held by
our school , this amazing event was
held for the students, parents and
friends of Lady Nafisa school . All of
us dresses up and everyone looked
great including the teachers. Later we
enjoyed traditional dances from all
over the world and listening to beau-
tiful nasheeds. At the start we had a
quiz that allowed all of us to bond.
Everyone made an effort to come
including previous students of Lady
Nafisa. The food was amazing and
very tasty, we had desert after and
we were all so full !!

Ladies Evening 2019:
YR 7’s trip to the Gudwara
Some people from the council and local
areas complained about our portacabins
and said it was taking away from the coun-
tryside's green land.
We do not agree, the portacabins are very
vital for us as we have countless lessons in
there and without them we wouldn't have
enough space in the school for us all.
We objected and the parents signed a pe-
tition for the council to allow us to keep
them.
A few of our teachers also had a meeting
with the council, they still haven't reached
a conclusion and this may take months.
We make dua it will be a favorable deci-
sion.
We hope we can keep them!

Portacabins
We started our journey in the
morning after our first lesson ,
which was maths. When ustadh
Jawad and ustadaha Orooj came
into the room and told us it was
time for the trip, the room was
filled with excitement. Everyone
got up, packed quickly, and went
to the bathroom so that we
could start the journey quickly.
We set off at 9.30am on the 222
bus, and 15 minutes later we had
arrived. We were welcomed by
a very sweet and intelligent
women who took us to the main
hall. “This is where our holy
book Guru Granth Sahib is kept”
she said, and explained that this
is what they consider the
“eternal guru”.
She then took us to a class room
and turned on the projector , an
explanation of the history of
sikhism followed.
After this she asked for a volun-
teer for a role play. The story
behind this was as follows:
The story was about three sis-
ters and one of them finding
peace with God.
After the presentation we were
invited to the langar and had the
most delicious food served to us.
The experience was a pleasant
and insightful one.

Yr9 Science trip to Kew Gardens
During June the school coun-
cil decided to organize an 'Eid
party for the whole school
and it absolutely awesome! It
was enjoyed by everybody. It
involved some activities,
nasheeds, mouth watering
food and everybody came in
their eid clothes! We got to
decorate the rooms we were
assigned and all the rooms
looked extremely colorful. All
the students were so crea-
tive! The teachers also en-
joyed the eid celebrations
with us and we all generally
had a fun time. Every-
one went home with a
super big smile on
their faces. We can’t
wait for the next 'Eid
party and we know
celebrating Eid at
school is one of the
benefits of being in an
Islamic school.

On Tuesday the 9th July, year 8
and year 9 were fortunate
enough to go the royal botanic
gardens –also known as Kew
Gardens –filled with absolutely
stunning plants and flowers
from around the world . We
travelled there by train and
from the start we were awe -
struck. The entrance was a
large black and exquisitely dec-
orated gate: but this was only
preparing us for the sights be-
yond. We had a workshop
there to do with temperate
biomes in the Asia temperate
glass house. We were sur-
rounded by a myriad of inter-
esting and amazing plants, like
the Japanese banana, immor-
tality herd and the Nepalese
tree leaf. The best thing about
the lesson was that it was not
a lesson but a mystery. We
were given suspects and actual
evidence, to figure out who
broke into the glass house and
what plant they wanted to
steal. Reading through suspect
files to figure out their mo-
tives made us feel liken true
detectives. It was a highly in-
formative and enjoyable trip!
Thank you to the teachers who
took us and Ravinda our enthu-
siastic teacher at Kew.

OFSTED:
The Leavers Assembly was a
very emotional experience for
both the students and the
teachers. We enjoyed planning
and presenting the Leavers As-
sembly. We hope the year elev-
ens enjoyed it we hope they will never forget the party the Year
tens planned for them - having
fun, dancing and reminiscing
over their time here.
The teachers expressed their
thoughts and emotions on how
year 11 achieved so much this
year, it got some of them teary.
They also received the LNS
leavers hoodie and leavers
books which we all signed.
We wish them all the best in
everything they do. May Allah
guide them, bless them and
keep them on the right path.
Ameen. We hope they'll never
forget us and they'll truly be
missed.
We wish them the best luck in
sixth form or college and
throughout the rest of your
lives. They are all such kind and
amazing people and we are sure
they will all do well in the fu-
ture!
We hope we can be a good and
inspiring year 11 next year too.

YR.11 LEAVERS ASSEMBLY:
Page 4 Summer 2019
Ofsted is an inspectorate that
makes sure schools are up to
the required standards all
across Great Britain. How it
works is an inspector visits
school and inspects it but they
take notes of the smallest de-
tails such as: the friendship be-
tween students, the effort put
into the lessons, how everyone
is presented and the presenta-
tion of our work. Recently we
had an inspector inspect our
school . Our headteacher in-
formed us in assembly that
they were going to visit the
next day. The next day when
she visited we greeted her
warmly. She watched all the
teachers teach their lessons,
she took a look at our books,
she looked at our presentation
and how much we took from
the lesson. She also took note
of punctuality and attendance.
All in all she stayed with us for
3 days and we enjoyed her
stay. We were looking forward
to hearing her feedback on our
school. We think she was
quite pleased with our school.
The report will be published
soon and we look forward to
reading it.
This Ramadan we asked stu-
dents to bring in donations
for the local food bank in
Hillingdon. A few of us were
lucky enough to go with
ustadha Fouzia and deliver
the goods. The ladies in the
food bank were over-
whelmed with the dona-
tions. We also get to help
sort the donations.

GCSE’S:
This year tens have had the
opportunity to take GCSE
Art .We were the first class to
do this subject at LNS. It's been
so fun making my natural forms
portfolio this year. My topic
was shells but others did sea , life and death, animals and
prints. We also research an
artist like Paul Cezanne , Geor-
gia O'Keeffe, Karl Blossfeldt or
Peter Randall-Page. We creat-
ed detailed drawings by using
either watercolor, paint pas-
tels, and even print. It's been an
amazing experience so far, and
really different to the other
subjects we are doing. It has
widened my career options to
doing more artistic subjects
like media studies and further
taking Art to A-level. I have
improved a lot as well and have
become much more confident
in exploring my artistic side it's
been so fun and exciting to
take GCSE art and I recom-
mend taking it.
Huda yr 10
At LNS this year for the first
time we have held GCSEs in
our own building. The year 11
students were able to feel
more relaxed in their own fa-
miliar environment. The teach-
ers were also at hand if the
students needed any help.

“its been a great
experience”
On the 4th of July ustadha
Tahira and the teachers
planned a barbecue for the
year 11 because they gradu-
ated in Islamic studies. It
was a day to celebrate all
the hard work they did for
5 years, we had shiekh
Suleman and sheikh Rizwan
come to give us a beautiful
talk about our beloved
prophet sallallahu alayhi
wasalam. We had tasty and
yummy foods including sa-
mosas, corn, burgers ,sausage rolls and much
more. We certainly can't
forget about the chocolate
fountain with strawberries
and marshmallows- YUM!
Alhamdullilah all the year
11’s got a diploma however
two students were out-
standing Muna Ali in first
place and Marjaan Paeizi in
second place they both won
a certificate and an Amazon
gift card. It was a fun and
eventful day. The students
took pictures in the gradua-
tion robe along with their
families. All of the mums
attended and it was a magi-
cal evening. Tabasum yr 10

This term we were happy to have
shaykh Suleiman come and give us
some regular talks.
They were enjoyable and informa-
tive and we took away lots of les-
sons and reminders.
We looked forward to his talks
every month and in his talks he
focused on some of our big 5.
He spoke about respecting Allah’s
creation, cleanliness being half of
our iman, listening and having adab
towards those older than us.
He is always able to relate to us
and to give us practical tips on how to improve ourselves.
I am sure we have all taken away
lots of valuable lessons.
We hope to have many more in-
teresting talks next year inshAllah.

Year 8 Hampton
Court Palace: On Friday the 28th of June yr8
were delighted to go on a Histo-
ry trip to one of King Henry
V111’s many homes: Hampton
Court Palace. When we arrived
we were greeted and taken
around for a tour of the magnifi-cent palace. After that an actor
dressed as King Henry VIII spoke
to us and each of us were put
into groups of three or four. In
our groups we had to create a
presentation / speech about each
person we were assigned all of
which were relevant to king
Henry’s life.
It was a fun and exciting experi-
ence and we hope to go again, a
special thank you to Ust Nyla for
organising our trip.

Praying outside:
Recently we have started praying
outside because there is more
space and it is more comfortable
because its not as hot as the
main hall in the summer time.
Praying outside enables us to
connect with Allah because we
are surrounded by nature and
the beautiful birds tweeting as we
pray. This reminds us of all of
Allah's blessings to us. It allows
us to be humble, and we pray all
together as an ummah.
Yr 9
Iftar and taraweeh:
On the 25th of May ustadha Kinza organised an
iftar for teachers and students during Ramadan.
The tables were set up outside so we could all
eat together and the lab was full of tasty foods for
us to eat and enjoy. All the students and teachers
bought a dish of food each to be shared. The iftar
began at 8 pm and when we had all arrived we sat
outside in a circle and read dua and Quran and
ust Fouzia also gave us a beautiful speech about
sister hood. At about 9 o'clock we all went to
get our food and prepare for the breaking of our
fasts. Once maghrib had come in we all prayed
and then dug into our food, we had about an
hour to enjoy ourselves and then we had the ta-
raweeh. Several students and teachers took turns leading the prayer and it was a great bonding ex-
perience for us all to pray together. After that at
around 12 pm our parents came to pick us up
and we went home. I hope we do this again next
year.
It was a great night!!
