It is with great pleasure that I bring you the 2019 Ultimate Directory of Podcasters featuring 670 of the world’s leading podcasters.

I have scoured the planet to compile this Directory and guide you towards those who can best help you ‘Broadcast Your Brilliance’. Inside, you will find today’s leading Podcasters, complete with their photo, show name, iTunes category and sub-category, short biography and, even, their email address (which we have audited by hand to confirm that we are sharing the most accurate data available!).

While we debated which podcasters to feature, ultimately we chose to highlight those who consistently rank in the top of their respective category and, also, those who consistently rank in the top of their respective sub-category.

Choosing whom to feature, as you might imagine, was no small undertaking. Our team reviewed literally thousands of potential podcasters before compiling the final lists.

To make our determinations for inclusion, we created a ranking system based on the following:

• The number of times they appeared in the Top 10 of the ‘parent’ category during a four-week period

• The number of times they appeared in the Top 10 of the ‘sub’-category during a four-week period

• The number of four and five-star ratings for their show

• The number of reviews for their show

• And, other (secret sauce!) applicable variables, including whether or not the host’s name is Steve Olsher :)

We then assigned a ‘score’ for each podcast based on these criteria. Those with the highest tallies are shown on the pages that follow and assembled first as the Top 10 for the ‘Overall’, or ‘Parent’ category such as Education and, then, by the Top 10 for each ‘Sub’ category, such as Higher Education.

As with any subjective process, I acknowledge that ours may have flaws. We likely missed more than a handful or two of podcasters that should have been included.

That said, the 670 selected are among the world’s best and, combined, reach HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of people each and every month!

Can you imagine how the trajectory of your business (and your life) would change if you were able to share your mission and message with that many people?

Needless to say, it would have a monumental impact. However, while I do encourage you to connect with each person shown, I strongly caution you to refrain from contacting them until you are 100% ready to do so.

How will you know when you’re 100% ready? When you can confidently answer “YES!” to at least four of the five following questions:

1. Have I already been a guest on at least 20 other shows?Let’s face it, you wouldn’t have wanted your first TV interview to be with Oprah during her prime, or your first radio interview with Howard Stern during his. The podcasters featured within these pages are the true icons of the podcasting world. You have ONE shot to get it right. Mess it up and not only will you never be invited back to their show, given that the world of podcasters is fairly tight, word will spread about your appearance and the odds of being invited onto others’ shows will be dramatically reduced.

Recommendation: Cut your teeth on shows with significantly less reach before reaching out for those featured in this Directory who are in the upper echelons of the game.

2. Have I already added value for the person I’m reaching out to in a meaningful way?

Adding value, first and foremost, means giving without the expectation of reciprocation. It means that you genuinely want the beneficiary to reap measurable reward from your efforts. And, it means that you have a clear understanding of the positive outcome you envision for them as a result of the time, energy and/or resources you have invested. Adding value takes myriad forms. For example, you can volunteer at one of their live events, share their social media posts, introduce them to someone you know who they’ve publicly expressed an interest in meeting, help promote their book or, perhaps, refer a client or student to them to take advantage of their offerings.

Recommendation: Research what the podcaster’s current “currency” is and identify ways that you can help them achieve their desired objective… and then do it.

3. Do I have my own show, or a substantial online presence, and have I already connected with, featured, or had a podcaster on my show?

When seeking to connect with podcasters, it is certainly easier to do so if you’re an influencer in your own right, have existing relationships with other podcasters and/or have a platform that rivals theirs. Few, however, will meet one, let alone all three, of these criteria. There is, however, an easy solution. Rather than wait for someone to come to your door and ‘anoint’ you as being ready to get onto the influencer playing field, take matters into your own hands and start embodying the character traits, and replicating the actions, of influencers you admire. Recommendation: Become clear on the people you are most compelled to serve, launch your own podcast and begin building your own tribe of loyal fans, followers and subscribers.

4. Have I made my presence felt in their community?

Believe it or not, most podcasters do actually read the comments posted on their blog/social media posts and take notice of the re-tweets, mentions, likes, shares and other engagement activities. They are especially appreciative when one member of their community helps another by taking the time to provide thoughtful answers to questions submitted or share tools and resources they have found to be effective and can help shorten others’ learning curves.

Recommendation: Invest time on a consistent basis to engage with the community of the podcaster you’d like to develop a relationship with, make your presence felt (without stalking or being creepy!) and freely share your knowledge and expertise.

5. Do I know this person, their interests, likes, dislikes and have a solid affinity for them?

Before reaching out for a podcaster, make sure that you have clarity on their story, belief system, dislikes, focus and how they serve their tribe. Most importantly, be sure that you actually like them. It’s easy to become enamored with how much reach a podcaster has. Do not let this alter your standards or integrity. Connect only with those who you would feel comfortable bringing home to meet mom. :)

Recommendation: Download and listen to a minimum of FIVE episodes from the podcasters you might want to connect with before doing so.

If you follow this strategy, you will inevitably reap meaningful benefit. If you choose to shortcut this suggested process and start sending out rapid-fire emails, consider yourself warned. You may not realize your desired results… and you may burn bridges that cannot be rebuilt.

I have been a guest on over 500 shows in the past three years including appearances on Click Funnels Funnel Hacker Radio, The Go-Giver podcast, Mixergy, Foundr Magazine’s podcast and many, many others.

Most importantly, and as you can learn in my free Profiting From Podcasts 4-part video training series, I have been able to convert this NO-COST visibility into over 100,000 leads and SERIOUS revenue.

However, I can tell you from experience (I’ve been podcasting since 2009) that you absolutely, positively should NOT email the podcasters in this Directory with your pitch… yet! Why? Because, the majority of podcasters featured receive THOUSANDS of

pitches every month and the odds of getting booked from a cold email are almost nil. They’ll hit the delete key on your pitch faster than Apple will slow down your device with its new ‘update’.
