GROWTH MINDSET!

So what is Growth Mindset about?

Growth Mindset

The belief that with practice,

perseverance, and effort,

people have limitless

potential to learn and grow.

GROWTH MINDSETInstead of … Try Thinking …

I’m not good at this What am I missing?

I give up I’ll use a different strategy

This is too hard This may take some time

I made a mistake Mistakes help me to learn

I just can’t do this I am going to train my brain

I’ll never be that smart I will learn how to do this

My friend can do it I will learn from them

and parents work hand-in-hand

to support students in learning

self-management skills, taking

responsibility and building

resilience.

The Straits Times – Home

17 Feb 2019

By having good home

routines, you are setting

your child up for life.

If you do your child’s

homework, he/she will

lose the opportunity to

learn.

Set up a conducive

home environment

for your child to

learn effectively.

If you keep going to

the teacher for daily

updates, your child will

miss the chance to

learn about

responsibility.

By letting your child

forget, you are

helping him/her

remember.

Ask the teacher for the

best way to contact

him/her.

Respect the teacher’s

time, contact the

teacher during school

operating hours only.

Mutual respect and trust forms

the strong foundation for positive

engagement between schools

and parents.
