About CLC CLC was created in 1995 and works independently from government, in a self-financing, commercial manner. We purchase property from government, properties that are no longer required for program purposes. We purchase these at fair market value through commercial transactions with federal departments. The government entrusts us to create and enhance the value from these properties, both financial and non-financial. Our profits are returned to the government, our shareholder, in the form of a dividend. The company has an exceptional team of professionals right across the country. We encourage an entrepreneurial spirit - doing things effectively and efficiently.

How We Do It: Extensive Public Consultations

Presentation Notes
CLC categorizes its core real estate function as being a developer of great communities. What separates CLC from the private sector is its attention to detail and respect for stakeholder aspirations – through consultation with municipalities, consultations with the public and ensuring a vision for a site that encompasses innovation, sound business practices and community aspirations. CLC’s real estate development arm is a fairly small group. This group relies extensively on the expertise of the private sector in cities where it conducts business to support its development activities. The company does not act as a ‘builder’. Instead it develops the vision, seeks appropriate support at the municipal level, conducts and participates in consultation processes and adheres to any legislative requirements at all levels of government.
