Amplication ofRareSpace
Location: Cambridge, CanadaTypology: Outdoor PerformanceLandscape__________________________2nd year Geoffrey Thun Studio
The amplication of the experiencesof rareSPACE exploits our 3 dominantsenses--audition of sound, sight andtouch. Employing these 3 elementsas a design structure, a frameworkof open-ended experiences are setup for the users.
The uniqueness of the material paletteand the uctuating, sometimes limitedvisibility in the eld constitute to anemphasis of a constant acoustical datum.Controlled by visibility and materiality ofthe spaces, users wander and listen tothe landscape, moving from one soundto the next.

Atlantic City Holocaust MemorialCompetition
We began by accepting the axiom that the scars left by the Holocaustare permanent in spite of continual attempts to deemphasize it throughtime. But there must be hope nevertheless, and means by which theHolocaust survivor - burdened with the responsibility to summon andretell their stories lest our societies fall into the same inhumane pathagain - can reconcile their paradoxical desires to move on and to notforget concurrently.
Thus we must reclaim the scar.

The site is envisioned as a zone of anti-life wheretime can be paused, convention inversed and theconsequences of the past - the scars - resurfaced asa grid of voids that emerges from an equally static, historical and unyielding grid of the city. The void tous is the anti-architecture that accurately depicts adeconstructed and absented past where all ephemeralqualities accumulated are eradicated.
