The Board of Trustees of Arkansas State Teachers College convenedin special meeting on October 15, 1965, at 2:00 o'clock P. M. in the BoardRoom in the Administration Building on the college grounds in Conway, Arkansas,with the following members and off icers of the Board present, to-wit:
Chairman: Louie H. PolkTrustees: J. C. Mitchell
Cleddie W. HarperDr. John W. Sneed, Jr.
and with the following members of the Board absent, to-wit:
Mrs. Rufus W. Morgan, Jr. , Secretary; J. Kendall Hoggard, and Digby C.West—all of whom'had had the seven-day written notice of the meeting requiredby statute (Sec. 80-2607, Ark. Stats., 1947).
constituting a quorum of said Board. Mr. Bruce R. Anderson, Architect, andMr. Wallace Townsend, Bond Attorney, met with the Board.
At this meeting the following business was transacted, to-wit:
Trustee Harper introduced the, following resolution: RESOLUTIONRESCINDING THE ACTION OF THE BOARD IN ADOPTING A RESOLUTIONAWARDING THE CONTRACTS FOR THE PROPOSED SCIENCE BUILDING,which he read, and then moved the resolution be adopted. Trustee Sneedseconded the motion.
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees has been advised that through errorthere was a transposition of Alternates in the bids for the construction of thescience building; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Trustees of Arkansas State TeachersCollege, that the adoption by the Board at the adjourned meeting held October 7,1965, of the resolution entitled: RESOLUTION LISTING BIDS RECEIVED,DETERMINING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID, AND AWARDING CONTRACTS,be and the same is hereby rescinded and set aside.
The motion carrying with it the adoption of the resolution prevailed bythe following vote:
AYES: Trustees Polk, Mitchell, Harper, and Sneed.
NOES: None.
Mr. Mitchell introduced a resolution entitled: RESOLUTION LISTINGBIDS RECEIVED FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND EQUIPMENT OF A SCIENCEBUILDING, DETERMINING THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDS, AND AWARDINGCONTRACTS, which he read, and then moved that the resolution be adopted.Trustee Harper seconded the motion.
The motion carrying with it the adoption of the resolution prevailed bythe following vote:
tAYES: Trustees Polk, Mitchell, Harper, and Sneed.
NOES: None.
A true copy of the resolution is attached to these minutes as a part hereof.
Trustee Harper made a motion that Alternate 5 (provide and install corn-position chalkboards in lieu of slate), Alternate 6 (provide and install asphaltfloor tile in lieu of vinyl asbestos floor tile), and Alternate 7 (provide and installconcrete block painted in lieu of brick masonry for all interior partitions, bearingwalls and back-up for exterior masonry walls), be added to the contract by changeorders as construction progresses on the science building, Project No. ARK. 4-0068.A second to this motion was made by Trustee Sneed and unanimously passed.

Trustee Mitchell made a motion, seconded by Trustee Sneed and unani-mously passed that the minutes of the last meeting , having been sent to Trus-tees, was unanimously passed.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meetingwas adjourned.
