Dear Friends and ColleaguesI would like to personally invite you again to the 5th International Breast Symposium Düsseldorf (IBSD) at the InterContinental Hotel situated at the Königsallee in Düsseldorf. Again, we have been able to recruit national and international experts with a great deal of experience in all areas of aesthetic as well as reconstructive breast surgery. The 5th Symposium will be different and new for scientific conferences. Our goal is to accomplish lively scientific controversial dis-cussions together with the participants and the faculty. Instead of having mainly front talks, we will focus on pro- and contra sessions to take the great opportunity to strengthen the multidis-ciplinary approach between the colleagues to create a platform for an open discussion from different perspectives. Further we will have parallel teaching sessions lead by renowned plastic surgeons or gynecolo-gist, to provide hands-on and interactive courses for young breast surgeons and gynecologists in their clinic or private practices. The 5th Symposium will address the following topics relative to surgical indications and selecti-on of appropriate techniques for breast surgery: Aesthetic breast surgery:Teaching hands-on sessions, Different ways of marking for primary augmentations, Epipectoral versus subpectoral implant positioning, Lipofilling no limits versus with limits, Different ways of approaching complications, ALCL update. Reconstructive breast surgery:Teaching hands-on sessions for autologous tissue and Ultrasound, Oncoplastic surgeryCapsular contracture and how to avoid it, Direct to implant or two stage breast reconstructionBCT versus Mastectomy and Reconstruction: is the outcome comparable?, Do we need RXT after BCT in the elderly?, Experiences with ADM and Meshes. The symposium venue, situated on the famous Königsallee, provides again a very special atmo-sphere and have the possibility to enjoy the city. I would also like to express my gratitude to the members of the faculty. Without their time and support, I would have been not able to accomplish this interesting program. I look forward to welcoming you in Düsseldorf.
Kind Regards Prof. Dr. med. Christoph Andree

After the presentations, the audience is going to vote on the presentations.
ONLINE QUESTIONS What interests and moves the audience most? We’re asking you to let us know by using the app to send anonymous questions directly to the moderators.
HOW WOULD YOU DECIDE? In order to facilitate a discussion that meets with the expectations of the participants, this year we are going to ask for your opinion at the beginning of the session as well as at the end – we are already very much looking forward to the results and to find out if your opinion changes after listening to the presentations.
