Europe has an aging population:

65+ -> 2030: 25% - 2050: 30% (Eurostat)

Impact on social protection, pension system and employment in the social sector

Belgium:

Trend: More migrants then Belgians start to work in care sector

2009-2013: + 5,000 (EU-countries) and + 7,100 (non-EU) (Vlaams Ministerie van Welzijn, Volksgezondheid en Gezin, 2015)

Unit 1: Communication with the residents, the colleague and the family

Unit 2: Daily tasks (e.g.: briefing when shift changeover)

Unit 3: Nutrition / Feeding (e.g.: assisted feeding, dietary restrictions)

Unit 4: Mediation and health care (e.g. wound care, insulin administration)

Unit 5: Post-hospital care (e.g. physical therapy, checking blood pressure)

Unit 6: Free-time activities (e.g. physical exercises, personal history)
