Gothic Lofts, Condomin-jum, 100 West WalnutStreet (enter at left side ofbuilding), was constructed
an Church until 1970 whenthe congregation moved totheir new location (also openfor the Candlelight Tour).After nine years of neglect,the building was purchasedat a Sheriff's Sale by thecurrent owners, Ken andLinda Ross, with the goal ofreturning the once beautifulbuilding to useful life. Withthe help of Lancasterarchitect John deVitry, theexterior is being restoredand the interior convertedinto four open and excitingliving spaces, the first ofwhich is open for the tour.The Jerry W. Residence, 276 West Mar-ket Street, is a large two-story brick and clapboardstructure dating back to theearly 1800’s. The home’sinterior carries on early 19thcentury motif accented witha central fireplace in theliving room and a walk-offporch in the front bedreom.Canal House, located at
264 West Front Street,is thehome of Keith and JodyMiles and their son. Theoriginal portion of this framestructure dates from theearly 1800's and showsevidence of having beenbuilt by or for JosephAnderson, son of theco-founder of Marietta. Asummer kitchen with brick
floor was added in the late19th century. Interestingreproductions of period wallstenciling are an unusualfeature of the house, whichhas been carefully restoredto reflect the eloquentsimplicity of an earlier time.The Johannsen House is
located at 216 West FrontStreet. This charming early19th century residence ispresently two townhousesoccupied by Larry Gibbleand Rosemary Patterson.Eclectic design combinedwith stenciled walls andfloors, and antiques andcontemporary furnishingsare mixed for practicallivability, comfort and thecharm of ‘old house”
