A Day in the LifeBy: Kassidy Tingle

Getting up early on a Saturday morning means there's a Band Competition. Getting ready for a long day of band with our show shirt and long black socks, only having to wait because the whole family is in the bathroom all at once.

Apparently its about 40 degrees outside. So while I go out into the cold my brothers get to stay warm and play on their ipods all day.

Even Nala didn’t want to come out into the cold when I let her out, right before she watches us leave.

Make it to school early only to have to wait for Anderson to unlock the doors. When we finally get in we start loading the trailers.

Then we head down to the ‘field’ to stretch and have about a 2 hour practice. After, we come up to have a snack because lunch is going to be late today.

Apparently we need llama fur?

For some reason we got dressed at school instead of at South Oldham where the competition is.

Made it to the competition to unload the trailers. After we’re done we have to warm up and perform our show for the 1st round of the competition.

After we perform we finally get lunch!

Forever long line

We all cram into one of the trailers to get away from the freezing cold and awful wind.

Now we all go sit in the stands, all huddled together under multiple blankets, and watch other bands perform and wait for the 1st round awards to be given and find out if we made Finals or not.

We got 3 awards! We also made it to Finals! Anderson reads to us what the judges said and then we have free time to work on things or just chill.

We warm up again, and perform our show again. Once we’ve changed and loaded most of our stuff, we watch the other bands again. Then the hosts of the competition, South Oldham, performs before they give out the Finalist awards.

We get on the bus and Anderson tells us what the judges said for our 2nd performance. When we finally get home everyone is exhausted while unloading all our stuff back into the band closets.

Literally don’t have anymore room for awards.

Finally get to go home and sleep!

Nala waits for us and meets us at the car door.

Walk in the house and they're still in the same chairs, now asleep.

Finally get dinner this late at night!

I watch a little TV and play on my iPad a little, but after a long day I’m so exhausted I got to got to bed
