Introduction to pcvlibrary

Please refer to the presentation and short videos about the public spaces in the pcvlibrary.

Purpose of the PCV Members’ Space• Access is available to PCV Members only

• Facilitates information sharing & collaboration

• Uses a self-help approach to ensure sustainability

• Links to & from the Palliative Care Victoria website: www.pallcarevic.asn.au

Access to the PCV Members’ Space• Limited to current PCV Members

• PCV provides a unique username and password

• Only PCV can change the username and password

• Usernames and passwords are not transferable

• Organisation members – access based on level of organisation member: level 1: 1 user; level 2: 2 users; level 5: 5 users

• Individual members = single user access

How to log in to the PCV Members’ Space

1. Go to www.pcvlibrary.asn.au

2. Select “Log In” on the orange bar

or click on the “Palliative Care Victoria Members” log in area

3. Enter your username and password – use the correct case and do not leave any spaces before or after the text

4. The “Forgot your password” function is not available. If you forget, you will need to contact PCV.

Responsibilities of PCV Members

• Please keep your password in a secure place and do not give your username or password to anyone else – this can compromise security and cause major damage and cost.

• Please respect privacy, copyright and intellectual property and other laws and ensure that any information you add is accurate and appropriate. The system keeps a log of each action, which identifies the user.

• Please review the support resources provided by PCV before contacting us for support, due to our limited resource capacity.

Adding an event to the shared calendar

1. Click on the menu

2. Enter a unique title

3. Click “add event”

1. Click on the event you wish to change

2. Select “edit”

3. The entry form appears

4. Make the changes

2. Select “all forthcoming events”

3. Search by a quality measure

a) Select the quality measures menu option

b) Select the quality measure of interest

c) View results and select the QI of interest to view in more detail

1. Search for & select the QI you wish to update

2. Select the edit button, update, save and check.

1. Scroll down to the end of the QI description and select “Add comment”

2. The “Add comment” screen will appear:

3. Add your comments and then select “Post”.

4. Your comment will appear in the comments section of the QI with your login username alongside it.

5. Other PCV members can respond to your comment or add another comment. For example, about a similar QI they are involved in or relevant resources.

You can download the resources:

1. Select the resource

2. Save the resource

You can add a missing useful quality resource:

1. Go to the left hand menu

2. Select the relevant item in the quality resources menu For example, “QI Tools”

4. Select “attachment” from the “Add” menu on the right

5. A screen appears for you to upload the resource:

6. Browse and select the file from your computer, add a short description in the comments & then select “attach”.

Special Interest Groups

There is a space for each SIG where PCV members can view meeting agendas and add resources.

Click on the SIG name to enter thatspace.

Each SIG space has a home and spaces for meetings (agendas etc.) and resources. You can add attachments (refer to the Introduction ppt.) You can also see what has been recently added by PCV members. For example:

Career Opportunities

You can:add a new position

search currentvacancies

Career Opportunities – view positions

All current vacancies are displayed in the public space. You can also see them from the PCV Members’ space.

1. Go to the Careers Home

2. Select “currently available position”

Positions will not be visibleonce the application due date has expired.

PCV Member Publications

This space includes PCV’s newflash & newsletters. A keyword search within this space will help you to find an item you wish to refer to.

These are resultsfrom a search withinthis space using the keyword “homeless”

Support resources include:

• tips for searching

• guidance documents, such as this

• short videos demonstrating what to do.
