“When we hope, we usually hope for the wrong thing. We yearn for tomorrow and the

progress that it represents. But yesterday was once tomorrow, and where was the progress in it? Or we yearn for yesterday,

for what was or might have been. But as we are yearning,

the present is becoming the past, so the past is nothing but

our yearning for second chances.”

RevivalRevival is an invasion from heaven that brings a conscious awareness of God

Renew

A life of renewal instead of a search for revival

Renewal is taking what God has given you and putting it into

practice.Your “newness” is a gift and a reality from God.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has

come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through

Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation 2 Cor. 5:17,18

A life of renewal instead of a search for revival

Into Christ = New Life

We were therefore buried with him through baptism into

death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the

dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new

life.Romans 6:4

You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is

being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your

minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in

true righteousness and holiness.

Eph. 4:22-24

Made New = Responsibility in Renewal

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be

transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what

God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Romans 12:2

Made New = Responsibility in Renewal

Laziness: your greatest hindrance to

renewal

The responsibility of renewal lies directly in the lap of each

individual Christian. God has already “done

something” in fact, has done everything

needed for renewal.Definition of renewal: A person full of Jesus

As long as you drink from the

water of life you hardly

think of your need. When you stop drinking from him the

need for renewal becomes critical.

Renewal is like thirst. As long as you stay hydrated you never

really think of the need for water.

Jesus stood and said in a

loud voice, “If anyone is

thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever

believes in me, as the

Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.”

John 7:37
