Thank You to Cathy Nelson and the folks from Outreach who organized and led the Faith in
Action activities. Thank you as well to the Deacons for a great lunch. It was a great morning!!

Change is challenging, as most of us can attest to!
In this issue of the Caller you will be reading about a new chapter in the life of Ben Auger. Yes, he and Jen will be adding a new member
to their family sometime this month. But another change involves his bidding Calvary farewell as he moves on to full time ministry. While
he shall be missed, we can be thankful for the accomplishments of his time among us, and celebrate the fact that numerous young people
have come to a saving knowledge of Christ. There will be a time to remember and celebrate with Ben and Jen and family, between services
on Sunday, June 14th. That morning refreshments will be served and a basket will be available where you may contribute a card or a “shower” gift for the new baby boy. This will be an
opportunity to wish the Auger family well and to bless them as they begin this new chapter of their lives!
What will happen to Calvary’s youth ministry? There is every intention of moving forward as planned. Leaders are in place—Kevin and Erin Luchi and Desi Gibb have agreed to carry on with the usual schedule of youth gatherings for the summer. Everyone is needed – adults, youth and
children—to participate and lead in Vacation Bible School, under the capable leadership of Martha Blodgett and Erin Luchi.
Your help is needed! Of primary importance--Your prayers are needed as we move ahead!
Pray for those leading the weekly youth gatherings, and Vacation Bible School. May they be filled with and guided by the Holy Spirit!
Pray and stay tuned for updates on changes to the Youth Mission Trip, however save those dates
August 1-8!
Pray for the youth as they look to new leaders and role models—may they see and follow Jesus!
Pray for the Personnel Ministry Team, the Session, and me as needs are assessed and a search begins for a new staff person to work in this important area of ministry at Calvary.
Pray about how YOU might get involved! Now more than ever, you and your gifts are
needed and welcomed in the service of our children and youth. If you have ideas, questions, or concerns please talk to me or to one of our elders.
While many things are changing, have no doubt about this:
“Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today and forever!” Hebrews 13:8
All Calvary’s ministries are built on no one else, only on the sure, unchanging foundation of Jesus
Christ!
Thanks be to God!

Dear Calvary Family, It’s with great sadness that I tell you my time here at Calvary is winding down. I will be leaving effective June 16.
The last year or two have been tough for me and Jen – we work a lot. Youth ministry never stops because the need is so great for kids to hear the Gospel and know God, and I’ve taken on the burden of trying to minister to every kid I can at the expense of my wife and kids. Jen is very supportive, working 50-hour weeks at four different locations to support our family, and she has been accommodating to my call to serve Calvary, families, and God in youth ministry. But, our current setup isn’t sustainable. Most days, we are like two ships passing in the night, one of us taking care of the kids and the other getting work done. We don’t spend much time together, Jen doesn’t sleep much, and I work most week-ends. We’ve needed a better family setup for a while.
I feel like God has responded to my calling to do youth ministry long-term and to provide a better structure for my fam-ily. Wabash church, in Auburn, had an opening for a full-time youth pastor position. I applied for it, they offered me the position, and I accepted. Please don’t view this as Wabash stealing your youth pastor because this was my initiative. I will be starting there in July 2015.
This comes at a good time for my family. Jen can be home more with the kids and the kids can spend more time with mom. This will allow me to get my work done in five work days per week and spend weekends with Jen and the kids. We don’t have to move, which we are so grateful for. It really sets us up well long-term.
I know this is a shock and it comes and an inconvenient time for Calvary. I’m sorry. To be honest, I almost didn’t do it out of consideration for each of you, especially the parents and kids. I hope you understand my situation and I hope you’re not upset at me. I know youth ministry will continue at Calvary. It always does. God is here and he is with you. Someone else will take my place and bring this ministry to new heights beyond anything I’ve done.
Another reason this is so hard is that youth ministry here at Calvary is going great and I’ve built so much equity with you and the kids. Here are some of the highlights I can remember from over the years:
• Over a dozen kids following Jesus for the first time and becoming new Christians • Youth-led church services twice a year, with kids doing everything like leading worship, sound, skits, testimonies, and sermons • Life-changing mission trips and exciting fundraisers • New highs in youth group attendance each of the last three years and double the kids I started with in 2009. • Youth participating in church on Sundays and adults participating at youth group this year • A permanent $25,000 endowment fund from PCUSA after we won a nation-wide video contest • A record-breaking (for Enumclaw anyway) Can Castle of food donated to the food banks • Steady upgrades to the youth room – It’s amazing now. It exudes teen spirit and is a safe, welcoming environment. • Confirmation classes with several kids and parents joining the church • Zany characters and skits at VBS – including Canada-man, The Peanut Butter Cowboy, and Captain Magic • Teenagers reading their bibles and memorizing verses on their own • Two nights of youth group instead of one – that room can’t hold all of the students we have!
Wow! Typing this letter just got much harder after making that list. It’s been fun and I have been blessed by you. I’m really going to miss you guys.
Sincerely, Ben Auger

Did you know that every week, one of the Calvary Deacons delivers the bulletin and a printed copy of the sermon from the previous Sunday to folks who are unable to get to church? This is made possible because of the help of the office workers - both paid and volunteer - who compile the delivery list, make copies and phone calls. If you are, or know of, someone who can't attend church for some reason, whether it be a short spell or an ongoing situation, please let the Deacons know so we can add the name and information to our list. Contact Pastor Cindy, Trish at the office or any of the deacons and we'll be happy to get you on board!

What is Worship? As the Worship Ministry Team and Session discern how to move forward with worship services here at Calvary, here are a few thoughts to ponder from Christianitytoday.com
(http://www.christianitytoday.com/biblestudies/bible-answers/spirituallife/what-is-true-worship.html)
The Book of Psalms is filled with hundreds of poetic anthems used in the religious celebrations of the children of Israel that clearly instructed them (and us) how to worship God. Yet, even though I heard the word worship in conversation, testimonies, songs, and Scripture, I didn't completely understand what it meant.
Worship is not the slow song that the choir sings. Worship is not the amount you place in the offering basket. Worship is not volunteering in children's church. Yes, these may be acts or expressions of worship, but they do not define what true worship really is. There are numerous definitions of the word worship. Yet, one in particu-lar encapsulates the priority we should give to worship as a spiritual discipline: Worship is to honor with extrava-gant love and extreme submission (Webster's Dictionary,1828).
True worship, in other words, is defined by the priority we place on who God is in our lives and where God is on our list of priorities. True worship is a matter of the heart expressed through a lifestyle of holiness.
We worship God because he is God. Period. Our extravagant love and extreme submission to the Holy One flows out of the reality that God loved us first. ...our worship must be toward the one who is worthy simply because of his identity as the Omnipotent, Omniscient, and Omnipresent One, and not just because God is wealthy and able to meet our needs and answer our prayers.
Evaluate your expressions of worship so that through singing, declaring, and giving, you will "give to the LORD the glory he deserves … " (Ps. 96:8). The promise is that when we worship God in this way, he will come and commune with us. And above all, God will respond to your worship by making your heart more like his.

The Heart of Worship When the music fades all is stripped away and I simply come Longing just to bring something that’s of worth—that will bless your heart I’ll bring you more than a song for a song in itself is not what you have required You search much deeper within through the way things appear You’re looking into my heart I’m coming back to the heart of worship and it’s all about you, it’s all about you, Jesus I’m sorry Lord for the things I’ve made it when it’s all about you, It’s all about you, Jesus King of endless worth no one could express how much You deserve Though I’m weak and poor all I have is yours—Every single breath I’m coming back to the heart of worship and it’s all about you, it’s all about you, Jesus I’m sorry Lord for the things I’ve made it when it’s all about you, It’s all about you, Jesus

Keep us in the loop... In order for us to provide timely pastoral care, Pastor Lynell and I need each of you to keep us informed if you know of someone who has become injured, ill or otherwise in need of a visit and prayers. Please do not hesitate to call the office to let us know. We do not always hear of everyone who could use pastoral support from one of us and from the Deacons. Thank you, Pastor Cindy
As you can see, spending has exceeded giving by over $7,800.
Some of that is due to the pastoral transition, but not all of it.
Please continue your faithful giving.
Blessings, Trish
Plastic Grocery Bags Needed
Recycle your used grocery bags. They are needed for the school Backpack Program to send food for the weekend home with district elementary students. The program is growing; the need is great. A collection box is in the church narthex or contact Anne McNeely, 825-4240 or Sande Nelson, 825-6771. Thank you for your help.

A HUGE thank you from Pastor Lynell for the wonderful day celebrating our new beginnings--I so appreciate everyone's support and thoughtfulness!
To my Calvary family: Thank you all so much for the awesome reception on May 3rd. I was so blessed to see and feel the caring shown for me. Music has been a major part of my entire life and not easy to give this ministry up so I will still be with you on Sundays and hopefully back ministering In the choir. God bless you all, Shirley Dal Santo Thank you Calvary for helping us raise $6,100 at the Mission Auction for our 2015 and 2016 youth mission trips. This gives us a lot of options for bigger & better ministry in Davenport, WA and helps us bring more Calvary kids on the trip. We are so grateful to you for supporting us. —Ben Auger Great thanks to all the wonderful Calvary people who prepared, cooked, served, cleaned and shared at Full Bellies this last Thursday. We fed almost 100 old/young/single/family/everyone else with God’s love and food. You are always invited to attend to share food and fellowship with our neighbors and to help when our turn comes again to serve.
To our Church Family, We thank you so much for your prayers, cards and kind words. They meant so much to us. With our love, The Stygar Family

The recent earthquakes that have hit Nepal have been devastating. The destruction is almost beyond
our ability to comprehend. In a response to the suffering in Nepal, we can show our compassion and
take courage that God is working through us to alleviate suffering. To take some action in that
direction, there are many agencies that are responding to this crisis. One such agency is World Vision
that is based here in Federal Way. I called and spoke to Brynn Esbenshade who coordinates rescue
efforts in areas of great need. When I asked if we could send hygiene kits or other supplies like we did
for the Philippines, she said they are unable to directly ship supplies to Nepal yet. However, the web
site for World Vision has a way to make donations intended for Nepal.
If you wish to make a donation, use your browser to bring up World Vision. Right on the first page of
their web site is information about Nepal and how to help. There are opportunities to make a one-time
donation or a monthly donation.
I truly believe that God does not abandon us during a crisis. Whenever we act with compassion for
other people, it is in response to God working through us. It is the direct manifestation of God’s love
for us that we turn around and help others.
Let us also offer our prayers for these people.
