their highest potential as law-abiding citizens through ARISE group sessions

History of Success More than 4,000,000 documented hours of ARISE

life-skills lessons have been successfully taught to youth in Florida alone.

Since 1996, ARISE curricula and staff training have been used in Florida, nationwide, and internationally.

ARISE has trained over 5,000 ARISE-certified Life-Skills Group Facilitators, who have taught ARISE lessons to over 500,000 high-risk youth with stunning results.

Preliminary outcome measurement indicated: In 10-month period Thompson Academy went from one of the worst

facilities in Florida to being awarded Deemed Status by FDJJ. QA score of 86%—15 percentage points higher than previous year.

Initial results from follow-up interviews with youth: 71% of youth reported they now have basic social skills and use

ARISE Motivational Interviewing

Since 2009 ARISE has integrated MI principles into its training programs.

What is MI?

o Evidence-based facilitation style designed to elicit individual solutions and responsibility for changing behaviors and maintaining the change long-term.

o MI principles—empathy, understanding ambivalence, rolling with resistance and supporting self-efficacy.

ARISE Training Programs

ARISE Life-Skills Training Designed for those working directly with at-risk

youth. Participants are certified as ARISE Life-Skills

Group Facilitators. Good for those with or without

formal educational experience. Trainees discover the unique

ARISE formula. Learn how to effectively use the structured,

interactive, evidence-based ARISE materials in group settings.

ARISE Master Life-Skills Training

Certifies participants to conduct the Two-Day ARISE Life-Skills Group Facilitator Training.

Ideal for organizations looking to have an onsite ARISE-certified Master Trainer.

ARISE Drop It at the Door

ARISE for Change Combines the evidence-based practice of Motivational

Interviewing (MI) with the ARISE Drop It at the Door training.

3-day training program for staff. 28 1-hour sessions for youth. Aims to:

o Increase pro-social outcomes in youtho Decrease the number of youth entering the

juvenile justice systemo Reduce the number of youth that recidivate

ARISE Gender Awareness Training

Participants learn: How girls express aggression differently than boys. The role that parents play in a girl’s anti-social

behavior. How girls participate in bullying. Forms of victimization and other common factors

that play into girls’ delinquency. Types of crimes that girls commit. Girls’ protective factors. Actions staff can take to positively impact the lives

of girls in their care.
