Inspired by floating Chinese Oolong tea leaves. The shape and shadowing of the leaves and feel of surrounding water are expertly rendered in the finished carpet. Cultivated silk is woven into the background for exceptional depth and dimension.
The design is interpreted in hand processed, high altitude wool, according to time treasured Persian hand-knotting techniques. Meticulous hand-dyeing of the yarns produces complexity and depth of color which enrich the overall aspect of the carpet.

These Thai silk carpets are woven in a village in Northern Thailand, and each has the luminosity luster, and softness for which Thai silk is world famous.
Because this product is unique to this one-village factory, and it is exclusive to Fort Street Studio designs, these carpets are only available in the most limited quantity of 1,500 square feet or about 12 pieces of 9’ x 12’ per year.
