Introduction
Tannins in médium and high dose havethe capacity of affect gastro intestinalparasites. In low dosage near of 0.3% ofdietary DM, tannins improve feedlotperformance of cattle. However, inunknown if tannins in low dosage are ableto modifies gastro intestinal parasitespopulation or induce a better performancein naturally infested bull-calves.
Objective
To determine the influenee oftannins extraet supplementation on
• feedlot performance of receivingbull-calves naturally-infested withgastro intestinal parasites.
Material and Methods
Sixty five bull-calves 171 ± SE 2.77 kg
Bull-calves were individually weighed,ear-tagged, and grouped in four blocksusing initial weight criteria 1'01' reduction01' social interaction, and allotted in 16ground floor pens (6 x 12 m). Bull-calveswere weighed days 1 and 28 when fecesand blood sarnples were taken from eachbull-calve to exploring the presence 01'
gastro-intestinal parasites, blood parasites, and plasma urea nitrogen (PUN)determination. Inside each block, penswere randomly assigned to receive one of
two treatments: Tannins extract wassupplied as TMP-Protein Enhancer(Técnica Mineral Pecuaria; Mexico), aprernix that contains 56% of a condensedand soluble tannins-blend
Experimental design:Complete randomized block design
Treatments:1) Feeding with a 70% concentrate
ground sorghum-DDG-canola mealbased diet (CTRL; n = 32).
2) Diet similar to CTRL, added with 0.3%(dry matter basis) 01' tannins extract(TE; n = 33).
Number 01' infested animals wascompared using Chi square test. Number01' parasites-eggs by gram 01' feces data(NEGF) was transformed to square-rootbefore analyses. NEGF, PUN, finalweight and Average daily gain wereanalyzed by ANOV A.

Conclusion
Tannins extract supplementation in low dose near to 0.3% 01' dietary DM, didnot produce changes on GI parasites population of receivjng bull-calves, but areable to induce a better weight gain response, despite those cattle are infestedwith G1 parasites.
