isaveryrelevantsectorofthepopulation

withapproximately10millionmembers.

Asignificantproportionofthemembers

ofEurope’sRomaethnicminorityremain

immersedinasituationofsocialexclusion,

subjecttodiscriminationprocesseswhich

limittheexerciseoftheirrightsandtheir

accesstoresourcesandservices,cultural

included,whicharereadilyavailabletothe

restofEurope’scitizens.

InSpain,Romaisthemostimportant

minoritygroupanddespiteitsnearly600

yearsofhistory,itsintegrationprocess

cannotbedescribedassatisfactory.Infact,

themajoritysocietyisnotfullyawareofthis

co-existencenorofthecontributionsmade

byRomaculturetoourcommonacquis.

Forthisreason(andothers)itisimportant

torecogniseandcelebratetheexistenceof

Romaculture.

In2007,approximately20,000 people

tookpartinourculturalactivitiesorganised

inmorethan20 locationsthroughout

allofSpainwithatotalofover115

performances.
