Advent #1 - 11/27/16 –

Eve and Adam’s Choice:

Sorrow Sowing –

Genesis 3, Mat 7:1-2, Galatians 5:22

Daddy,

it’s just

like

heaven!

I wish

Christmas

could last

all year

long!

"Oh I'm just thinking about

why God would

allow suffering

in the world

without doing

anything

about it?"

Well, why don't you ask Him?

How did we get here?

Every culture has

its own tale of

how evil came

into the world.

Here is ours.

… 4 But the serpent said to the

woman, “You will not die. 5 For

God knows that when you eat of it

your eyes will be opened, and you

will be like God, knowing good

and evil.” 6 So when the woman

saw that the tree was good for

food, and that it was a delight to

the eyes, and that the tree was to

be desired to make one wise …

…she took of its fruit and

ate; and she also gave

some to her husband, and

he ate. 7 Then the eyes of

both were opened, and

they knew that they were

naked; and they sewed fig

leaves together and made

themselves aprons.

10 And he said, "I heard

the sound of Thee in the

garden, and I was afraid,

because I was naked; and

I hid myself." 11 He

said, "Who told you that

you were naked? Have

you eaten of the tree of

which I commanded you

not to eat?"

12 The man said, “The

woman whom thou gavest

to be with me, she gave

me fruit of the tree, and I

ate.” 13 Then the LORD

God said to the woman,

"What is this that you

have done?" The woman

said, “The serpent

beguiled me, and I ate.”

15 I will put enmity

between you and the

woman, and between

your seed and her

seed; he shall bruise

your head, and you

shall bruise his heel."

The first prediction of

Jesus on the cross.

People waited a

very, very, very

long time for

Christmas.

A very long and

sad time. Some

are still waiting.

“I am afraid

He will ask

me the same

question.”

Well, why don't you ask Him?

The Fine Print:

For with the judgment

you pronounce you will

be judged, and the

measure you give

will be the measure

you get.

Mat 7:1 "Judge not,

that you be not

judged.

Gal 6:7 Do not be deceived; God is not mocked,

for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.

Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,

faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.What lasts:Faith,Hope andLove

What people really want

and need for Christmas:

We are able to live

in a better world …

if we are willing

to become

better people.

Sow the

Good

Seed.

Underneath all

the decorations is

the simple human

need for a Savior.

If we could just make Christmas last.

Last all year.

We would be so close ... to heaven here.

Sow the good seed.
