After interaction with this software ,the learner will be able to:

. Identify a prism.

Describe Types of prism..

Define surface Area &Volume of a prism .

Compute Volume and Surface Area of a prism.

A prism is a solid ,whose side faces are Parallelograms and whose ends (bases) are rectilinear figures.

A C

Pentagonal Prism

Triangular Prism

Quadrilateral Prism

BASE: The end on which a prism may be supposed to stand .

HEIGHT: The Perpendicular distance between the ends of a prism .

AXIS: The straight line joining the centers of the ends of a prism.

LENGTH : The portion of the axis that lies between the parallel ends.

LATERAL FACES: All faces other than the bases of the prism.

LATERAL EDGES: The lines of intersection of the lateral faces of a prism

REGULAR PRISM :If bases are regular figures

RIGHT PRISM : If its lateral edges are perpendicular to its ends .

V = Area of the base x Height
