Fifty Six & Counting Fifty six and counting since we
started on our way. Donning double harness on our
sunny wedding day. Out buggy wheels were wood and
steel, our load was very light. We were young, and blest with health, out future ever bright.
Ambition was our driver, who held
the reigns in the gentle hands, The yoke that bonded us for life, a
pair of golden bands. Our future planned together, made
us a perfect team.
In time some little passengers en-hance the love we share.
The joy they brought into our lives more than paid their fare.
At times the load we shared meant traveling by night,
When roads were deep and muddy we must pull with all our might.
The five we carried through early
years have plans that are their own, They left us with our blessings to
find new love and home Soon rubber tires and lighter wheels
made easier the climbs, With roads improved and hills less steep now enjoyed relaxing times..
Now the children we are blessed with, put shoulders to the wheel
The ease our remaining journey with a willingness that’s real.
Fond memories of the paths we trod as we traveled along the ways And thank you for the love we
shared that brightened nights and days
