Subject: HVAC units for Community Center

Department: Parks and Recreation

Bids were solicited for the replacement of the commercial HVAC units servicing the south side of the Franklin P Norman Community Center. Bids were requested for one (1) 10-ton unit and one (1) 5-ton unit to replace units that were installed in the mid-1990’s. Additionally, it was requested to add an option to replace a second 10-ton unit that was replaced in 1998.

Bids were solicited from Ernsbarger’s Heating and Cooling, CDL Heating and Cooling, Ast Heating and Air, Gish Mechanical, Jones Plumbing Heating and Air Conditioning, Chief Heating and Air, Fred Williams and Sons Heating and Air Conditioning. All replacements require use of a crane which is included in the bid. The results are as follows:

We are requesting Ernsbarger’s Heating and Cooling replace (2) 10-ton units and (1) 5-ton which is the lowest and best bid. Replacement of all units will prevent future crane charges. This expenditure will come out of account 280-5-5200-327, other capital outlay.
