Project ProposalAgriculture, Sanitation and Healthcare

As mentioned in the first video, the three target areas based on our assessment were in agriculture, sanitation and healthcare. Village12 is launching 4 projects to address the problem in each of these areas:

1) Community cleanup and public park installation.2) Agriculture production. 3) Latrines and composting system. 4) Medical clinic and healthcare courses.

Projects

Community Park and Cleanup

Problem: • Garbage is scattered throughout the community. • There are no garbage cans and few community gathering areas.

Projected output:

A garbage-free environment,

with a functioning recycling center and and public park.

Cost: $ 6,528

Agriculture Production

Problem: People do not eat or grow enough food.

Projected output: • Use innovative and efficient growing systems to

maximize crop output and grow enough food to feed everyone.

Cost: $ 8,265

Latrines and Composting Bin

Problem: There are not enough toilets. The 28 that are present are in poor condition.

Projected output: • Build 75 (est) low-cost, locally-sourced, locally-approved

latrine toilets, enough for 1 for every 10 people. • Build a composting system to process the human waste into

fertilizer.

Cost: $ 25,928

Clinic and Healthcare Education

Problem: Malnourishment, dehydration and unsanitary living conditions cause many people to be weak and sick. People do not have the access, attention or education needed to lead healthy, clean lives.

Cost: $ 6,865 Projected output: • An operating a medical clinic, staffed with

medical practitioners and stocked with over-the-counter medicines. Regularly offer courses like nutrition, hygiene and first aid to train healthcare workers.
