2008: Start up of acAviAes thanks to the cooperaAon between AIESEC Italy and KPMG Italy, the support of gtz and various AIESEC Alumni from AIESEC InternaAonal Network in Ethiopia 2008 – 2011: Various recruiAng and and events have been run from 2008 to 2011 when AIESEC was acAng informally, recognized by the network as Official Extension of AIESEC Investment of AIESEC in Italy: 2008-‐2009: 10.000 € -‐ results achieved: 1 incoming intern 2009-‐2010: 7.000 € -‐ results achieved: 1 outgoing intern 2010-‐2011: 2.000 € -‐ result achieved: 1 outgoing intern, 3 incoming interns swITch March 2011: AIESEC in Ethiopia has been registered as Ethiopian Society under the Ministry of JusAce, Agency of chariAes and society. June 2011: Member CommiYee in the country composed of 5 internaAonals with minimum 2 years of AIESEC Experience to support the development of the organizaAon By InternaAonal Compendium of AIESEC the InternaAonal Plenary is voAng an authomaAc disbanding moAon for an Official Extension which does not fulfill membership criteria a]er 3 years of acAviAes [for Ethiopia has been proposed since IPM Mexico Feb 2011]

• AIESEC Ethiopia has been officially legalized as an Ethiopian Society by Ministry of JusAce under the Agency for ChariAes and SocieAes on March 29th, 2011.
• VAT Due to our legal status we have a TIN number which allows us to receive incomes and sustain expenses issuing receipt but we don’t need to pay VAT on that. AIESEC in Ethiopia TIN Number: 0016906467
• Bank Account: Having this legal status we have been allowed to open our Bank Account under the name of AIESEC Ethiopia on Awash Bank, Bole branch. Our Independent Bank Account refers to the Number: 01322056043200
• Brand Registra(on: Brand has been registered under the EdiAng Agency of the Government According to ArAcle 75 of the proclamaAon 2009: “No ChariAes or SocieAes shall use any symbol without having registered it by the Agency”. As a consequence of this arAcle, is NOT possible for AIESEC in Ethiopia to transfer the Brand in the IP SAtching Licensing. • Local CommiFees and ac(vi(es in Universi(es: Both AIESEC in Addis Ababa University and AIESEC in Unity

work allowance from NGOs, or other insAtuAons or organizaAons, not from AIESEC [refer to the arAcle 91 of the proclamaAon]
• GIP is allowed for interns arriving in the country with Business Visa and once here is up to the company to issue paper for the government to register the intern in the labour agency.
• all InternaAonal MC and CEED, the legaliza(on process needs to pass through the University support in asking to government agency to issue labour permit.

English classes delivered by mother tongue international university students: To teachers: 3 days a week 3 hours grammar & conversation To women: 2 days a week 3 hours introductory classes [every Ethiopian who has attended primary school should have studied some basis of English] IMPACT Achieved:

ACTIVITIES: Support the selling of the producAon through AIESEC Global Network to increase family income of the women and strenghten their family condiAon Through AIESEC volunteers, offer to their children basic english educaAon before they can afford primary educaAon IMPACT Achieved:
60 women involved in trainings on scarf producAon to beYer target them for internaAonal markets 60 children from 3 to 6 entertained in the center by interna(onal volunteers to teach them basic english and keep them away from the street
