SCHOOL CONSTRUCTION UPDATE FARMINGTON ELEMENTARY / AKIN ROAD ELEMENTARY – JULY 2013

Cranes were on location at Akin Road on July 10 to help install new air exchange equipment.

Crews worked quickly, but with caution to get the job done right.

On the rooftop, crews carefully put the equipment into place. These replace a 33 year-old outdated system.

This improvement project will provide more fresh air and improve air quality for students and staff.

Work at Farmington Elementary continues at a rapid pace. Here is a look at the cafeteria expansion at the north end of the building.

New footings are in place as a foundation to create much needed space for students. The project replaces a 1950’s era cafeteria and kitchen.

Heating, Ventillation, and Air Conditioning systems will be transitioned from outdated and inefficient room-controlled systems.

New HVAC systems will be computer controlled leading to better air quality, higher energy efficiency and improved student comfort.
