All About Me…The companion slides to Rancho Cucamonga

Library Presentation

Andrew is a very dedicated, committed, and hard working student. I had the opportunity to work in his group for an entire quarter and we were only able to succeed due to his diligentness in quality of work and timeliness.

With a business degree and a minor I was still able to graduate early. Mostly because I enjoy what I do, and I tend to get it done.

Andrew works as a computer monitor directly assisting customers at the Ovitt Family Community Library. We have received multiple written compliments on his willingness to help customers and friendly demeanor. Andrew goes out of his way to help customers who need extra assistance working on the computers, including people who use the library to search for jobs. Andrew is bright and motivated and goes out of his way to help customers

Andrew is a smart, approachable, and knowledgeable individual that provides above standard services. His work as a computer monitor has always been outstanding. He takes both pride and initiative in his work, having designed courses for the community that deal with web 2.0 and other online utilities. He is a team player and a great person to work with.

Making an Impact

One day, a man asked me to help him with his resume. A little help slowly turned into more of a critique of how to make his resume better. By the time we were finished, we had constructed a resume that we both enjoyed. I was moved to keep helping him because he was genuinely grateful for the help. That’s not the best part of the story. A couple of weeks later, I received a letter saying that the same man just got hired as a mechanic, making $25 an hour.

Clean Up Duty

I was hired by the City of Corona in part because the library has so many computers, and depends so much on technology that the job of providing for support for the library and the rest of the city could be overbearing. That’s where I came in. In less than a year, I was able to update and maintain computer inventory, computer programs, help reprogram the networking cables for a newly installed circulation desk, and run the help desk for the city in my free time.

Fun Fact

Adam calls me a ninja assistant because of how quiet I am with helping students who fell a little behind. It’s important to me as an assistant to help catch them up, while not disrupting Adam’s flow while teaching.
