Action Needed Correspondents:
Our Daily Bread Food Bank of Tangipahoa Parish- In March, they distributed 11,055 Hot Meals, 2,581 Monthly Food Boxes, and 4,599 Emergency Bags with the help of amazing staff and volunteers! Their current needs are canned goods for food boxes and seasoning blends for the hot meal site. Their clients come because they need food assistance, but they keep coming back because of the love they feel and the hope they receive.
STEM-ulate STEM and Aviation Summer Camp (Tangipahoa African American Heritage Museum and Veterans’ Archives) is seeking sponsor for the 6th annual summer camp. The camp was founded on the belief that kids are naturally idealistic, compassionate and that they instinctively want to learn new things if given the opportunity. Engaging students in math, science, engineering, and technology is one of the most important factors in creating tomorrow’s workforce. The average cost per student to participate in the 4-week program is $250, which is particularly difficult for families with more than one child and/or modest means.
