ICT based Teaching-Learning

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in education is the mode of education

that use information and communications technology to support, enhance, and optimize the

delivery of information.

Various devices/technology in ICT includes:

Access of course materials through remote devices,

Online digital repositories for lectures, course materials, and digital library,

Online based academic management systems,

Employing the flipped classroom concept,

Making use of handheld computers, tablet computers, audio players, projector devices etc.

Policy ‐makers accepts that ICT in education can help the students to compete in the

global economy by being part of a skilled workforce and facilitate social mobility by:

Enhancing learning experiences and providing new sets of skills,

Reaching more students with Massive Open Online Courses(MOOCs),

Facilitating the training of faculties,

Minimizing costs and saving time associated with information delivery and automating

regular day-to-day tasks,

Improving the administration of institutions to enhance the quality and efficiency of service

delivery.

All Faculties have undergone ‘MARGADARSHI’, a faculty development program on ICT

Based Teaching-Learning conducted by Professors from R.V.College of Engineering.Faculties

have shared their corresponding course sites to all students. The ICT methods are very effective in

clearing the core concepts of the subject matter; this has been proven in enhancing the students

level of understanding and retaining the knowledge. This method makes content more

enjoyable, making the whole session more interactive. This improves the retention capacity of the

students, brings in more focus and makes the whole process enjoyable.Faculties used to share their

lecture notes ,lecture videos and other study materials through their google sites to the students. In

that session Professors discussed how to create and utilize google sites for students.

Google Site

Learning Activities

Math: Faculties can create a math-based educational website. Examples being a tutorial for a

certain math process, an overview of a branch of mathematics, or maybe an interactive

biographical site about a given mathematician.

Science: Google Sites is a great tool for creating digital science labs that students can follow

along with on their own. There are a number of great examples of science teachers that have

created their own interactive lab sites.

English/Language Arts: Online book reports, classroom discussion forums, and informative

sites about literary movements are some possible uses of Google Sites for an ELA classroom.

Other uses: More generally, any classroom teacher could use Google Sites to create a one-stop

hub for their students. Homework reminders, important resources, syllabi, and discussion forums

are just a few ways a teacher could utilize this tool to make their learning experience go beyond

just the classroom.

One google site created for the subject Computer Organization in ISE branch is given below:
