News Bulletin: RBR to FWH!
In response to many requests, the exciting news is that Americade 2011 will be centralizing and moving its social headquarters to the spacious property of Fort William Henry (FWH), overlooking Lake George.
We enjoyed 28 good years on the outskirts of town at Roaring Brook Ranch (RBR), but many attendees wanted to be closer to the two TourExpo trade shows at the Beach and The Forum in Lake George, as well as within walking distance of many Village restaurants, shops and motels. Flat parking was also on their wish list, and our new location delivers it all!
The FWH property is level, on the hill above the Beach Road Parking Lot where Americade’s daily MiniTours assemble. The FWH’s spacious back lawn has the absolutely best view of Lake George. This outstanding scenic location will provide photo-opps galore with the world-famous view up the lake as a background. A circus tent and live music will add to the party atmosphere.
Americaders will now be able to attend many evening events at our new social headquarters and then walk back to their motels, or catch the regularly-scheduled village trolleys.
All the events and activities which used to be at RBR will now be at FWH: demo rides, factory displays, field events, judging competitions, seminars, fashion shows, and parties.
Americaders will use the entire 17 acre FWH property including its conference center, banquet rooms, historic fort, and FWH’s redecorated & expanded Towers Hall. Registration and check-in will remain at the Holiday Inn, which is just up the street from Fort William Henry. The motorcycle industry is gaining strength and our TourExpo Manager tells us that TourExpo 2011 will be better than ever, and will fill up the Lake George Forum as well as the traditional Beach location.
Americade 2011 will be much more centralized and convenient than ever before, and we think you’re gonna love it !
As you page through this new edition of the annual Americade Times, enjoy a recap of Americade 2010, look forward to the upcoming riding season, and an exciting new chapter in Americade history.
On behalf of our whole Americade Team--- we look forward to seeing you next year!

2010 Retrospective... A week worth of FUN!
Americaders showed their indomitable spirit in the things
they do and the way they do them. Rain or shine, thousands of people
suited up to participate in the amazing activities lined up for
their destination vacation.
Ameri-Week kicked off with Monday sign-in for pre-registered folks, at the Holiday Inn; where Dunlop was offering FREE Tire Inspections as bikes left the lot. Thousands showed up early to get in on all the activities set up just for them. The Scavenger Hunt got people out on hundreds of miles of roads throughout the Adirondacks and Vermont. Luckily the Hunt went on through Friday so attendees had time to make it back to Roaring Brook Ranch, Americade’s Social HQ, for the Newcomers’ Seminar, Riding Demonstrations by Lee Parks and the NYSPD Drill Team. Immediately following the evening’s entertainment was the Rider Magazine Opening Celebration.
Much of the weeks’ entertainment began on Tuesday and ran through Saturday---TourExpo (where Yuasa offered FREE Battery Checks), MiniTours, Boats, Demo Rides, Judging, Featured Speak-ers, and Adventure Events; all sponsored by a variety of industry leaders. This year we had 3 new, 2 redesigned, and the return of 5 of the most popular classic MiniTours. Early every morning Beach Road came alive as thousands lined up for a day of riding adventure!
In the evenings, many climbed aboard one of our many popular Ameri-cruises around the lake. We had 4 specially themed evening cruises--- the King of Rock Cruise, the Mardi Gras & Luau Party Boats, and a Country Hoedown boat. In addition, there were 7 other traditional scenic cruises with buffet, music, and dancing! There was plenty of food, fun, & excitement to keep the action going all week!
In addition to all these daily choices, we had plenty of exciting social activities for folks to join in throughout the week! Tuesday got social events rolling at Spare Time for Bowling Thunder, pizza, ice cream sundaes, and great door prizes.

2010 Retrospective... A week worth of FUN!RBR was hopping on Wednesday evening with Red Knights 3-Course Dinner(with more door prizes than you could shake a firehose at), Manufacturers’ Fashion Show (with door prizes ga-lore), & Functional Lighting Contest (which showcased the best & the brightest). If folks were looking for something a little different---the Painted Pony Ranch laid out an impressive spread with their Texas BBQ; afterward hundreds of guests watched an exciting professional Rodeo with bull ridin’, barrel racin’, & more!
On Thursday morning the Charity Poker Run made its start at the Blue Moose Tavern. Players returned to RBR in time to join other Americaders for Field Events, the Vendors’ Fashion Show, an evening of laughs at the Comedy Club, Decorative Light Contest, Light Parade, and Balloon Glow. It was a full day, indeed!
Even though the week was almost over---the fun kept coming on Friday---it was a spectacular day of sun & fun! Riders headed out early for MiniTours and the final day of Scavenger Hunt & Poker Runs. Everybody made it back in time to check-in with their game cards at RBR and enter to win the big prizes handed out later that night. Without a doubt---The Friday Night Spectacular at Great Escape was an electrifying event. It was our biggest night of the week---with great food, thrill rides, shows, awards, grand door prize drawings, contest winners, music, fireworks, and more...
Saturday morning was a little on the rainy side (OK, more than a little); but Americaders didn’t let that dampen their spirits. The real riders made it out for the Geico Get-up & Go Breakfast, Costume Judging, Dunlop Parade, Party on Prospect, and MORE major door prizes! The Lake George Rotary helped culminate this eventful week with their traditional Gold Wing giveaway that evening at RBR!
It didn’t matter if you were interested in a casual ramble down
scenic roads, up for a rousing evening of entertainment, or browsing through the 100s of vendors at the tradeshow; there was always something to do at
Americade 2010!

Monday Evening was packed with excitement for all the Pre-registrants who came into Lake George for early sign-in. We kicked off Americade week in style---with newbie orientation, Scavenger Hunt, and motorcycle riding demonstrations, followed by the Opening Celebration sponsored by Rider Magazine.
The Roaring Brook Ranch main dining room was packed with hundreds of party goers relishing the delicious dessert buffet including chocolate éclairs and a fountain of chocolate with
plenty of fruit to dip into it!
New and veteran Americaders shared riding stories as they enjoyed the evening’s speakers and awaited Rider Magazine’s generous door prize bonanza.
After remarks from the editor of Rider Magazine, Mark Tuttle, guests pulled out their door prize tickets and the folks at Rider called out the magic numbers to the obvious delight of the crowd.

The third annual Scavenger Hunt was an amazing success. Players were able to start exploring surrounding communities by 10am on Monday.
Many of you managed to get stamps from all 3 locations in all 10 communities by Tuesday afternoon!
We hand picked towns to give you the opportunity to explore the region at your own pace. Only one stamp from 8 communities was required to enter---but there were incentives to visit
all 10 towns and 30 locations---by doing so, you were able to DOUBLE and TRIPLE your chances to win one of the fabulous
Scala Rider communication systems awarded at the Friday Night Spectacular.
This was a fun activity for all---Surrounding communities were
able to join in the fun. Americaders got to see places they’d never been before and
were welcomed with open arms!
The start of the 2010 Poker Run was hosted by the Blue Moose Restaurant---who generously provided Scrumptious Coffee Cake and coffee for all who entered!
The all new route still brought Poker players to one of our favorite stops---the Westmount Nursing Home. There, they were greeted by residents; players took time to show off their bikes and talk for a while.
Along the way there were opportunities to enjoy the scenery, get a bite to eat, and have fun with friends---new & old!
The event sponsors: AMA, CF Moto, Harley Davidson, Honda, Kawasaki, Victory, and Yamaha donated fabulous prizes to the players. Every evening, folks crowded around the Roaring Brook message board to see what they won! AMA awarded special prizes to the top 3 AMA winners at the Friday Night Spectacular !

MiniTours continue to be one of the most popular features of Americade.
Thousands of riders headed out to amazing destinations through the Adirondacks and Vermont.
Regardless if you headed out on your own, rode in small groups, or hooked up with hundreds of other folks---we had the route for you in 2010!
This year there were 6 Guided and 4 Un-guided MiniTours. We brought riders through some of the most spectacular countryside around---rambling over hill & dale, climbing to soaring heights, checking out the by-ways & waterways, going on boat & train rides, traveling through historic covered- bridges, and even sliding down the

If you preferred a day on your own---we also offered 8 Self-Guided tours designed to show the best of the region and allow folks to travel at their own pace.

Rodeo & BBQ
Sponsored by:
Wednesday was a night for good food and lots of fun!The Painted Pony Ranch put on a finger lickin’ Texas BBQ in their dining pavilion. Rustlers got their pick of BBQ chicken, hamburgers, or hotdogs. There was corn on the cob, potato salad and all the fixin’s to go with it! Nobody was lefthungry at this chuck wagon!
The action really got going over at the corral---We had a professional rodeo with real buckaroos, steer roppin’, bull ridin’, and much more! Hundreds were able to enjoy the show under the covered stadium seating.
The fellas from Cycle Solutions were on hand to make the evening even more exciting with hundreds of dollars worth of goodies.
For those wanting to hang out ‘till the cows came home---the Longhorn Saloon opened it’s doors so
folks could two-step into the night!
The Red Knights invited hundreds of fellow Knights to enjoy a delicious 3-course meal, where guests had the choice of Roast Sirloin of Beef au Jus, Chicken Marsala, or Tortellini Primavera; with salads, bakers or rice, veggies, & dessert.
Not only was this an opportunity to talk with friends about their favorite rides, new bikes, and old stories---it was also the yearly Corporate Supper for all the officers.

Comedy Club
Sponsored by:
Sponsored by:
All joking aside, Thursday night’s Comedy Club was one of the most popular events of the week. There was standing room only in the Roaring Brook Ranch Lounge & Dining Room.
The opening act, Brett Anderson, tuned up the crowd with his great sense of timing and witty remarks. The crowd was breathless with laughter by the time the
headlining act, Andy Pitz, took the stage. Andy has performed on Late Night with David Letterman and at some of the top comedy clubs in New York City.
Andy’s keen observations of everyday life touched on the way we’ve all felt at one time or another. He kept folks rolling with laughter the whole show!
When there was a break in the laughter, Yuasa handed out door prizes to three lucky audience members.
This event has quickly become an Americade favorite---
see you at next year’s show!
Even though most folks wear their R.K. colors to dinner--it was an open event for all who are interested in joining the club---or just wanted to get in on the thousands of dollars in door prize drawings.
A good time was had by all!

White Water Rafting
Those who joined us for Americade’s first everballooning had a special treat as these gentle giants
took off in the morning skies.
Guests were invited to take part in the entire ride---even getting the ship ready to sail. Upon take off, they glided over the amazing countryside and were
able to have a bird’s eye view of all their fellow enthusiasts getting ready for a day of adventures!
Folks really enjoyed the chance to change up their ride and see the area on the slower side. Hundreds spent
some time meandering along piney trails, grassy meadows, and climbing surrounding mountains.
This 1-hour guided ride through the Adirondack forest left folks wanting more. Next year we’ll be using new
trails---so come ride with us again!
Who would have thunk it? Motorcycle enthusiasts as adventure seekers? Makes sense to us. For 2010 we put together three fun adventures for folks to enjoy!
Over the week, thousands of folks took to the skies, trails and waterways!
Quickly has become one of our most popular activities---White Water Rafting pleased the thrill seekers in the crowd
with new river guides and location for 2010!
Gliding, whooshing, splashing, and laughing best describes the down river journey through
class II & III rapids. For folks who couldn’t get enough, we had an all day adventure available.
Rafters even got to take home an Official Americade towel!
Stay tuned to see what the team cooks up for next year’s adventure!

Boat Cruises
Eleven Cruises, seven sponsors, five days, four themes---countless memories! What a great way to spend a couple of hours---cruising the lake, eating great food, hanging out with your friends, and get-ting a chance to win thousands of dollars in door prizes!
Two of the themed boats were all about the music. On Tuesday the ladies lined up to dance with the King of Rock. While Friday found folks of all ages stomping out a good time on the Country Hoedown cruise.
Our exclusive party boats were the places to be on Wednesday and Thursday evenings!
Cruisers enjoyed the Cajun feast at Mardi Gras on Wednesday night with Jambalaya, red beans & rice, french bread and all the creole fixin’s you could eat! The entertainment was a Zydeco band straight from the Big Easy.
www.americade.com TIMES 19
Boat CruisesThursday was Luau all the way! Party goers were greeted as they climbed on board with a traditional lei and authentic Hawaiian performers---Hula dancers, Fire Eaters, and sway-ing island sounds. The menu was a hit as well---Kuhlua Pork BBQ, Hawaiian salads, and pineapple upside down cake for dessert!
For Americaders who chose to hop aboard one of the other dinner cruises we brought back (by popular demand) our fa-mous fried chicken dinner! The ship’s captain narrated the two hour cruise along the “Queen of American Lakes” as folks took
in the majestic beauty of Lake George and the Adirondacks served as entertainment enough for anyone! There were even a few surprises along the way-- including a wedding onboard Thursday’s Honda boat!
Big thanks to all our sponsors: Dunlop, Harley Davidson,
Honda, Kawasaki, Kuryakyn, Tour Master & Yamaha for
the fabulous door prizes and for joining us for the fun!

Riding Demonstrations & Clinics
NYSPD Exhibition
Lee Parks Total Control
Lee Parks conducted his always popular Total Control riding clinic on Monday and Tuesday nights. Advanced riders took to the pavement to entertain the crowd gathered at Roaring Brook Ranch for the Newcomers’ Meeting and the Opening Celebration.
As spectators were treated to the jaw-dropping handling techniques of these experienced riders, Lee provided helpful tips on advanced cornering techniques,
how to make full dressers corner like sport bikes, and what to do in emergency traffic situations.
Lee’s demo is a must see for riders of all skill levels!
To the delight of hundreds of onlookers the New York State Police Department put their bikes through the paces
in the lot just outside the Roaring Brook Conference
Center on Monday and Tuesday evenings.
A few lucky Americaders jumped on their bikes
and tried out some tricky maneuvering around tight
cones and riding in formation with the
boys in blue.

Fashion Shows
Hundreds were wowed during our two nights of Fashion Shows. The runway was
studded with color, fun and excitement.
Americaders started filling out their Christmas wish lists as the full riding gear, leather
jackets, and other apparel shown by Harley- Davidson, Honda, Indian, Kawasaki, & Yamaha
glided by during Wednesday night’s Manufacturers’ Fashion Show.
On Thursday night we hosted the Vendors’ Fashion show. There were representatives from British Motorcycle Gear, Gerbings, Olympia,
TribeAmerica, Saratoga Saddlery, & Sportline Power Products. The Vendors showed fashions
ranging from Boots to Hats, and Textiles to Leather.
Both nights were packed---Fred Rau kept the action going as fashions came
down the stage. Later thousands of dollars in prizes were awarded...
including most of the fashions seen in the evenings’ shows.
The Fashion Shows are always fun filled evenings NOT to be missed!

Best of Show
An accomplished and passionate musician, Diane Bibaud has played organ in the Olympic Stadium for the Montreal football team, at the Molson/Bell Center for the Montreal Canadian Hockey Team, and owns her own music store. Five years ago Diane discovered her second passion---motorcycles!
Diane rides with her best girl friend Lise Hamel and the GWRRA chapter D in St. Hubert, Quebec. Together Diane & Lise own two other bikes---Zigoboule, a Honda VTX1300 and Pandawing, a Gold Wing 1800 Trike. However, Cocotte is her favorite.
“I am dramatically in love with my little iron horse, Cocotte.” Diane feels that Cocotte is an extension of herself and is styled to reflect her personality. The 2005 Honda Shadow is “tattooed” with a keyboard, musical notes, and red flames. She’s decked out with enough sparkle and shine to make anyone proud!
Diane whole heartedly considers herself a “motorcycle mama”---scheduling regular appointments at the motorcycle doctors, feeding Cocotte “nothing less than supreme fuel”, and tucking her in at night in the custom made bedroom they share. This truly is a love story!
Diane plans to return to Americade in 2011 with a brand new look for Cocotte that will amaze everyone.

Lodging Tips
Campground Hotel B&B Cabin Townhouse
If you haven’t yet reserved accommodations, try these tips:
• Check out the Accommodation Guide on the preceding pages.• Don’t just call the first few places in the guide; they tend to get called the most.• Call the Chambers of Commerce who advertise here for recommendations.• Many small hotels don’t open up their reservation system until April, so a call then will often have success and a lower rate.• There are many small towns within a 25 minute ride and they tend to have more available space and lower rates.

Thousands of Americaders were wowed by the exciting rides, amazing food, rockin’ band, award ceremony and spectacular fireworks!
Dinner ticket holders were allowed into the park at 6:30pm. The first 1000 bikes got the honor of driving into the grounds and parking near the rides and dinner pavilion! 5 exciting rides were available for folks to enjoy until 8pm---the famous Comet Roller Coaster, the Giant Ferris Wheel, the Pirate Ship, the Blizzard, and the Go Carts!
At 7:30, the main gate opened for all Americaders to come enjoy FREE coffee & dessert. Along the way to the Pavilion Area they were treated to the hilarious Penguins Water Show.
Bobby Dick & the Sundowners entertained the crowd throughout dinner and dessert until it was time to announce the winners of several contest categories and start the drawings for Major Door Prizes.
The Oldest/Youngest & Distance categories were recognized and applauded for their accomplishments. We’re happy to say that Leo Chlebnikow (94 yrs young) was once again the Oldest Rider---and we hope to see him again next year! We’re also happy to say that the Youngest Rider changed up for 2010---assuring there’ll always be fresh enthusiasts in this sport we love! See page 34 for a complete listing of Oldest/Youngest and Distance winners.
All week, thousands of Americaders scoured the surrounding commu-nities in search of Scavenger Hunt Towns and Poker Run stops. Cardo Systems awarded a ScalaRider Q2 Multiset and a ScalaRider Q2 to Scavenger Hunt winners who were chosen by random drawing of all the folks who participated and got 8 or more stamps from the 10 participating towns. Most Poker Run door prizes were handed out the day of each run, the sponsors who donated these prizes included CFMoto, Harley Davidson, Honda, Kawasaki, Victory, & Yamaha---however, AMA was on hand to award prizes to the 3 top AMA winners! See page 8 for a complete listing of Scavenger Hunt and Poker Run winners.
The evening’s excitement built as drawing for the Grand Prizes began. This year we were able to give away over $30,000 dollars worth of goodies! In addition to this list of prizes and winners and the prizes given out earlier...the evening’s sponsor---Tour Master handed out hundreds of dollars in additional prizes to all the contest winners!
Never a disappointment, the Tour Master Fireworks Show kicked off to an explosion of sound and color. Folks were wowed as the synchronized music and fireworks lit up the night.
The Friday Night Spectacular continues to be a “must do” for Americaders...hope to see you in 2011!

When it rains, it pours. On Saturday afternoon, as all the week’s action and festivities were wrapping up, Tom Coleman---Ashtabula, OH, was showered with a
motorcycle enthusiast’s dream---a brand new Honda Gold Wing! The Lake George Rotary annually holds a motorcycle drawing, during Americade week, to raise funds for local charities. Tom has entered to win every year and it finally paid off. This was especially exciting because Tom just bought a brand new dark
blue Gold Wing Trike. Now he has his choice between bikes when taking the trip of a lifetime to the West Coast next year!
