American Revolutionaries

George Washington is probably the most well known American Revolutionary. He was the general of the Continental army. He was also the first President.

Born: February 22, 1732Died: December 14, 1799

John Hancock is known as an American Revolutionary for making his name huge on the Declaration of Independence.

Born: January 23, 1737Died: October 8, 1793

Benjamin Franklin was a scientist. As a scientist he is famous for the lightning rod. But as an American Revolutionary he is famous for his many trips back and forth from America to France. To try and get the French to fight the British. He also wrote the ORIGINAL Declaration of Independence. Before Thomas Jefferson.

Thomas Paine is known as an American Revolutionary for writing many pamphlets to rally Americans. His most famous pamphlet is Common Sense.

Samuel Adams is one of the lesser known American Revolutionaries. He is know for founding the famous “Sons of liberty”

Thomas Jefferson was our third President. But in the time of The American Revolution he wrote The Declaration of Independence.

The second cousin of Samuel Adams. John Adams was the second President. But was also Vice President to George Washington.

James Monroe was the fifth President. He was the President that would end the Virginia Dynasty(First 5 Presidents which were all from Virginia).
