“Everyone in the world should be able to sleep without fear, at least for one night. Everyone should be able to eat to his fill, at least for one day. There should be at least one day when hospitals see no one admitted due to violence. By doing selfless service for at least one day, everyone should help the poor and needy. It is Amma’s prayer that at least this small dream be realised.”
- Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma)Chancellor, Amrita University

Amrita Self Reliant villages
Amrita Self-Reliant Villages (Amrita SeRVe) is a “village adoption” program through which the Mata Amritanandamayi Math (MAM) has selected 101 vil-lages throughout India with the goal of helping them establish the re-quired infrastructure to become self-reliant role-model villages for the country.
Project Vision
To empower villagers to live in a prosperous village — where people are educated and healthy, and lead a life of dignity in a clean and pollu-tion-free environment; where everyone’s basic needs of life such as food, water, clothing, housing and employment are met; where there is harmo-ny between man and nature; and where there is a self-reliant and vibrant culture rooted in India’s age-old traditional wisdom.
Amrita CREATE
The Center for Research in Advanced Technologies for Education (CREATE) is an educational technology initiative pioneered by Amrita Uni-versity. Amrita CREATE applies innovative digital solutions that integrate research and practice to provide accessible and affordable educational technologies for all.
