An Alienated Legacy; Chapter 1.3

Over the weekend, Lux and Jordan grew into teenagers. They grew up well, although they did miss their father who was MIA.

In fact, he didn’t come home until the early morning. The twins were still upstairs sleeping and 213 was in bed relaxing, waiting for the baby to come.

Betsy Ann, however, was wide awake.Needles to say, it was an awkward breakfast.

“So,” began Betsy, “Where were you last night?”“Oh, I was just, uh… out getting groceries.”“For 13 hours?” she questioned. He was silent.“You missed the twins birthday.”His eyes went wide. “That was last night?”“It can only be one night,” Betsy said through a sandwich.

Kennedy cleared his throat. “Anyway, I was wondering if I could get a ride to the Music & Dance lot. I need to take care of something.”Betsy sighed. Why couldn’t he just drive himself? “Sure.”“Thanks kiddo. Daddy loves ya,” he said with two finger guns.Betsy gagged.

They both pulled up to the dance studio Noelle Dennis managed.“Wait right here. I’ll be right out,” said Kennedy, waiting for a goodbye. After Betsy shrugged, he sighed and stepped out.

Noelle was at the very top floor, practicing her ballet.“You keep in such good shape,” said Kennedy with a smile on his face.“Unlike your wife,” Noelle shot quickly.Kennedy shook his head. “She’s still my wife, you know. And you’ve never even met her, you don’t know what she’s like.”

“I don’t have to,” she said. Noelle would have continued insulting 213 but he was going to be all hers shortly so there was no need. “It doesn’t matter. You’re leaving her soon, right?”“I don’t know… she’s pregnant, and our kids are going to college soon. She needs my financial support.”“Fine,” scoffed Noelle. “But until that baby is raised, we need to see each other more.”

“That can be arranged,” he said with a smug look on his face, bringing her in for a kiss. Suddenly, loud stomps were heard.

“WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?” screamed Betsy, hot anger growing inside her.“Betsy,” Kennedy said softly but nervously, “I told you to wait in the car.”

“Oh, Betsy,” Noelle tsked, “Disobeying your father’s orders? You’re just like your mother – nothing but a bitch.”Betsy gasped.

“How dare you!” Betsy screamed, throwing Noelle’s glass of water on her.

“You know nothing about my mother! She came here with no money and no friends and built a family with no help from my father! That’s more than you can do in your lifetime. She’s the strongest woman I know, and you’re nothing but an immature slut.” Betsy’s face had growing red and made her face numb, rendering her oblivious to the tears rolling down her cheek.

Betsy turned around to see her father sitting on the couch, enjoying the show. “And you… don’t even think about coming home unless you’re going to confess. If you think you can go on with your daily life after this, then this baby will be your last.” Betsy huffed and stormed out of the room, leaving Kennedy and Noelle to stare at each other in shock.

Betsy slammed the front door behind her when she arrived back at the house. She wasn’t paying attention to the fact that Kennedy and her had gone there in one car and she left him there, but she would have anyway.“Mom!” she screamed.

213 awoke to a door slamming and a loud yell. “Yes… yes, I’m in here,” she said with all she could, despite the fact that her energy was drained from the baby.

“Mom!” Betsy said with a rushed voice. “Kennedy is cheating on you. Her name is Noelle, she manages the dance studio he’s been going to.”

“No, no, no!” 213 interrupted, refusing to believe it. “That can’t be. Kennedy would never have an affair, we have kids.”

Betsy stared in disbelief as her mother ranted at how ridiculous the idea was. She simply shook her head and walked away from her mother.

Betsy sat down to have something to eat. Shortly after her, Kennedy returned at sat next to her.“You know, it’s not polite to stick your nose in someone else’s business,” he said in a condescending tone.

“It’s not polite to cheat on your doting, loving wife with someone who doesn’t even compare to your mistress,” she shot back quickly. Kennedy sighed and stood up, plopping himself down on the couch and watching tv.

Kennedy had debated this moment over and over again, but it was time to tell his wife.“Noelle? I need you to come over.”

They talked about how they would let 213 know they were together, but there was no doubt that Kennedy was under Noelle’s spell.“Alright, we can tell her,” Noelle approved “But we do it my way.”

At that exact moment, 213 was upstairs feeling the labor pains.“Arrgh, Betsy!” she screamed.

Unfortunately, Betsy was at work, but Jordan and Lux ran to their mother’s side. She gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Madeleine.

213 smiled when she saw her husband walk into the room.

In a matter of seconds, Kennedy and Noelle began to kiss, in front of 213, the kids, even the baby.

“What do you think gives you the audacity to cheat on me in front of my children?! In front of YOUR children?!” 213 screamed.Noelle simply smiled, obviously happy that she was causing so much trouble.“I’m sorry, you had to find out somehow.”

“I had to find out somehow? The only way to tell me that you’re cheating on me is to kiss the woman in front of me and my fifteen minute old child? Go to hell.”

Jordan ran to a corner. There’s no way she would stand to watch this all go down, it was too traumatizing. All she knew right now was that she hated Noelle.

Even the baby understood what was going on. Madeleine already had a growing hate for Noelle.

While Kennedy and 213 fought upstairs, they realized Noelle had disappeared. She went downstairs to dance in the living room.“What makes you think you’re welcome here? Get the hell out!”

Hours later, Betsy Ann returned home from work, oblivious to anything that was going on. Suddenly, Jordan rushed to her.

“Betsy!” she yelled, waving her down as if she were in a crowd. “Mom, Dad, blonde girl, fighting,” Jordan panted.“What?” Betsy asked in disbelief.

Once she caught her breath, Jordan spilled everything. “Mom gave birth to Madeleine. Dad and this girl Noelle were up there and then out of nowhere, they start making out, right in front of me, mom, Lux, and the baby.”

“Oh my God, right in the middle of everything…” Betsy commented. “Are you okay?”“Yeah, I’m fine. I just need to recuperate.”

“Alright, go rest. I need to talk to mom,” Betsy said, wrapping her arms around her sister.“You’ll find her in the kitchen.”

Betsy walked into the kitchen and greeted her mom. “Uh... Hi.”

213 got up and hugged Betsy tightly, catching her off guard. “I apologize for being so stubborn, I should have known. He’s been doing this since you’ve been a baby.”Betsy sighed. “Bastard.”

“But listen, I need you girls to sit at the table. I’ve chosen the heir.”

Just like their mother asked, Lux, Jordan, and Betsy sat at the table, waiting for the announcement.“So?” asked Lux.“Who’s the heir?” questioned Jordan.Betsy was a bit less antsy and kept quiet.

“Alright, alright, calm down you two,” 213 laughed. “The heir is… Lux!”

Lux stopped in her tracks. “Me? Really? I get to be heir and start a family?”

“Yay!” yelled Jordan. “We’re so happy for you. We’re happy for Lux, aren’t we Betsy?”“Yes, very happy for Lux.”Everyone clapped and celebrated by doing a little Smustling.

After most went to bed late at night, Lux found her mother on the couch, watching a comedy movie. She joined her.“How’re you holding up mom? It must be tough.”

“It is difficult, but you have to get through it – for your kids.”Lux smiled.“Speaking of kids,” 213 continued, “you should be getting to bed. I’m sure your sisters are wondering where you are.”Lux could have argued that, but she gave it a rest and headed up to her room.

That night, Kennedy returned home from work with nowhere to sleep but the floor. Exactly what he deserves.

The next morning, now aware that she wasn’t the heir, Betsy called for a taxi to take her to college.

Next to leave was Jordan, and she took the same taxi as Betsy.

The only girl who didn’t go to college quite yet was Lux. There was a triple birthday tonight and she wanted to stick around.

Kennedy was the first to grow up. Nobody wanted to attend his birthday because he still lived with them, but sadly, they needed the financial help. He brought home over $1,000 every day.

He grew up well, and even Lux was being a good sport. She didn’t care about this whole cheating situation.

Up next was 213.

She grew up well, too. As a strong person, she found a way to block the scandal out of her mind to stay happy for her kids.

Last, but not least, was Madeleine. 213 let her do the honors – she was the heir after all, and she would have to get used to helping children grow up.

Madeleine grew into a healthy toddler.

After Lux put down Madeleine, she heard a honk out front.“This is my taxi,” she said, turning to her mother.“Good luck. You’ll have so much fun.” She hugged Lux, not wanting to let go.“Mooom,” she moaned with a laugh.

And with that, Lux was off to her new life for the next four years.

When Lux arrived, she was intimidated by a large dorm building. Soon, she would own this and everyone in it. She was going to make something of herself on this campus.

She spent a lot of her time meeting the people she would be around for a long time. Even if she didn’t like them, she found a way to be nice no matter what they said.

She even joined the daily Smustle in the common room. All this partying was making Lux feel very welcome.

And when she was ready, she visited the dance studio. Music & Dance was her passion and she wasn’t going to let her father’s mistress get in the way of that.

Lux would feel awkward. No matter what room she was in, Noelle followed her, trying to intimidate or annoy her.

Finally, she joined Noelle upstairs to confront her.“I’m tired of this. I don’t want to hate you, I don’t care what you did. My father was a scumbag before you.”

“I’m glad you agree. Your father is going to be mine soon anyway.”

“That’s okay. My mom deserves better than him, so he’s all yours.” She smiled and left the room, heading back to her dorm.

A few days later, after her first exam, Lux invited over the best known sorority on campus.

They looked extremely intimidating on the outside, but they were very sweet. They were easy to get along with, too.

That day, they accepted her into the Greek House. She decided to not move in, but to stay in her dorm. It was too early to leave just yet.

It wasn’t long after that she began to fall in love with a boy named Manuel, the campus’ Casanova. Despite his Romance aspiration, she chose him. She could find a way to change them when they graduated.

Their relationship grew quickly, and by her sophomore year, she was ready to have his babies, right then. Of course she couldn’t, her college life would be screwed and it would be way too early.

One night, when returning home from the dance studio, the cafeteria woman called her over.“You gots a lettah ovah theh, dahling,” she said in her natural Jersey accent.

Lux looked to where she was pointing and saw a letter addressed to her. It was from her mom and it included some pictures.

Dear Lux,

How is everything? I can’t wait for you to come home and start your family. I assure you’ve found a mate. I have much to catch you up on.

I got rid of your father. Growing into an elder gave me strength I never knew I had. I kicked him out the night after you left, and then I retired. Now I spend all of my days with Madeleine. I’ve saved up enough money to keep me going until you come back and get a job, so I have not a worry about finances.

Speaking of Madeleine, she’s grown into a lovely child. She’s so happy and has a worry-free attitude.

When I kicked Kennedy to the curb, he bought a small house. Noelle moved in with him, they got married, and adopted a sweet little girl named Brittany. Do you want to know how I know this?

Well, we recently became friends again. Don’t be angry, I’m no longer attracted to him. After all he’s done, he’s ruined our romantic relationship, but we did it for our kids. He comes over every day to visit Madeleine and they are very close.

Sometimes when he visits, he’ll bring over Brittany so Madeleine has someone to play with while we chat. He says his life is very good with Noelle and I’m happy for him. I have no reason to be jealous, either.

Yes, I’ve fallen in love again. His name is Morty Roth. He’s married! I feel terrible being the other woman, but I’m so attracted to him. I have no plans on asking him to move in or marry me, that part of my life is over. Soon I’ll be gone, so there’s no point in asking him to crush his family that way.

Anyway, I can’t wait to see you when you come home. It’ll be very soon, I know. I hope you can get through any troubles you’re having.

I love you,213

That letter gave Lux a strength not even she know she had. If her mom could forgive her father for cheating on him, then Lux could find a way to love her boyfriend even though he’s a romance sim. That night, she asked Manuel to marry him and he said yes.

Lux began to spend more time with her fiancé. She would influence other people to write her term papers, and they did a good job, too. “I want to change… for you,” Manuel admitted, ignoring his loving ways.“I know,” Lux said with a smile.

Before she knew it, Lux was throwing a graduation party with some friends. She was almost sure this would be the best night of her life…

However, it wasn’t. She threw a terrible party, grew up badly, and to add insult to injury, grew up overweight. This wasn’t the end though. Just like her mother, she would overcome her problems and go upward from here.
